Alright so basically

You know that thing
that Hypixel has
Where some community members are selected to ask the community about balancing or what they want added to their respective minigames, then they send that to the devs so the devs have an actual idea of what the community would like to see changed, instead of whatever they're being paid to think about

Yeah we need that, considering the lack of communication between the CT and the base community.

This would help a few things:
#1 avoid those upsets where the CT does something literally nobody asks for and then instead of just being civil we bitch about it like a bunch of entitled children or something
#2 help stabilize the reaaaaalllllyyyyyy unstable bridge of communication between the CT and players.
#3 help people know what is gonna change in terms of basic QOL stuff before- bam big update drop. take all of this we're not reverting it

I wouldn't say like full on additions of content; but like certain reworks, balances, reverts of small changes.

Here is how it would work:

The admins would post a thread asking for nominations for the people who make up the PC (you cant nominate yourself). All of the nominees would be pulled into a poll thread, and the top 10 most voted people would be chosen.

The positions are not permanent, and players can be removed from the Council at any moment.

These Council Members will then observe, see what the community wants changed, what may need a rework just based on their own opinion, etc. etc.

They'd then compile all of this, make some sort of idea on how this would be changed, go to one of the CT Managers/Admins; ask them what they think, once the CT Manager(s)/Admin and the Player Council reach a consensus, the Player Council would post a thread detailing some of these changes.
If the community likes it, they send it to the CT to be implemented, if they don't like it, the Player Council would attempt to balance them once more. After a consensus is reached; they'd send the proposed changes to the CT for one last balance check before they're implemented.

Tell me what you think down below. Is this alright? Or does it violate every single censorship rule the CT has in place that I don't know about?

 

Basically a community manager

 

Not really, you don't actually manage the community, a member of the council would be the voice of the players and the CT to each other. Effectively serving as a bridge between them, which is a good thing. The player council can't skew anything to their favour, although the staff team might practice favouritism, but I trust them overall. +1.

 

I like this idea. Would definitely help with communication between the ct and the community, and help avoid situations like the wars and trade market outrage.
The way I would see it happen is like the item feedback thread, where the community can properly give feedback on something the ct likes to get feedback on.

I don't know if making Admins choose the players is that good of an idea; you just stated that they're kind of out of touch with the community, making them choose the people to fix that problem seems a bit counteractive. I'd say the mods or even other parts of the ct might be better at choosing people to represent the community.

This a good idea, however, they have the power to decide who gets onto the council and who doesn't. A great idea, but I hope if this is added, that the council isn't filled with yes men to the CT. Just one worry, but I feel that should be kept in the back of your mind.

 

They can’t really because the community votes on all of the nominations

 

They can probably give themselves the power to deny some people.

 

That's only afterwards. After that a new nominee would need to be elected.

 

If they accept second place who has 60 votes but not first place who has 80 votes, the community will bo doubt give the admins crap that no one wants
