Wow, you like one thing, im impressed, I suddenly agree with this heap of shit.

You and a few others are the only ones who dont like crafting levels, and longer quests --> more content, imagine all of DnD in 1 quest, how tf would you do that?

You should be happy that any sort of quest system is even possible in MC, yet you take it for granted as in they deserve to make you quests. I don't take things like this for granted, You should do the same.

Be happy that Wynn has this many quests to begin with, Some good, Others bad Just try to remember that they do this for us all, So just be happy that they have it at all.

Calling me a heap of shit isnt an argument. And crafting levels are worthless when theres already fishing, mining, farming, tailoring. alchemy and smithing

Longer quests are ok and can be a good thing, its the way they make the quests longer thats the problem. 4 waves of enemies you are forced to fight then fighting 2 basic bosses for no reason is ARTIFICIALLY lengthening it. Im sure if dwarves and doguns was one quest it wouldnt need to be artificially lengthened.
    ________________________________
Im not "taking things for granted". They have shown in the past many times they CAN make brilliant quests like wynnexcavation, ToA, dead island and many other examples. Im not saying "they deserve to make me quests" im saying the quests they make now are bad compared to quests before. I am happy with the good but the good is from start of wynncraft-gavel update. Its been 4 years since we got an actual province with good quests and content. (corkus isnt even half the size of wynn and doesnt have nearly the same amount of quests and the quests it does have are bland and uninspired) im pretty sure dern isnt even dern, its the road TO dern. I mention this because im sure if the dev team does to dern what they did with corkus then people will start to notice.

It’s the internet, if you can’t accept that you’ll get backlash for your controversial opinion, then keep your mouth shut. He honestly should’ve expected this before posting the thread. Besides, I never said he was wrong for disliking corkus or even for disliking D&D, I only said why I think none of his reasons for disliking it are very good

I was more referring to shit like this:

"i know exactly how the devs think and i for fact know they wanted to pad quests rather than, yknow, add bosses because theyre fun"

"your opinion doesnt fucking matter enjoy what you have no matter what you think of it"

honestly yours was one of the only well-reasoned non-shitposts in this thread lmao

also, let's be real here, the worst atrocity committed in this thread was that he named it "Of Dwarves and Let Downs" over "Of Dwarves and Disappointments". Not that hard and a way better alliteration, smfh

    Hi everyone,

I would like to remind those who are continuing to comment on this thread that it isn't that hard to accept one another's opinions. I am not speaking as to whether or not I agree with the OP here; but whatever their opinion is, they are entitled to the privilege of being able to discuss what they believe to be the shortcomings of the questline. Though of course it is not always a nice thing for GMs to hear that one particular player did not enjoy their work for some set of reasons, it does not mean that everyone has to go around calling each other idiots and whatnot due to disagreeing. Obviously, this is a two way street - the OP must also be open to criticism by those who believe their explanation of the quests' shortcomings to be wrong or incomplete, and could perhaps benefit from simply trying to have fun with whatever storylines the Wynncraft quest writers worked hard on - but regardless, everyone must try not to resort to being rude just for the sake of it.

I only ask that you all keep this thread a bit more civil. Thanks!

this thread made me regret starting my computer today.

What I can get out of this is that you dislike some quests and what the Content Team are and how they are working on things. Okay. Fine, you can dislike a quest, it just seems like all arguments put forth onto this matter are based upon "man I died so many times during this quest and now I hate everything Wynncraft stands for". Just use some actual good arguments and not this boo hoo crap.

I'm sorry for saying this but I love wynncraft and will defend it!

And secondly you cannot say that "everyone hates this and that and you can't deny it" if that percentage (basically 100) is fully false and has no backing towards it. Maybe you and some people dislike something, fine but don't say that we all do because everyone doesn't share opinions, even though it would have been easy and kinda cool (for like the first 5 minutes at least)

Now I don't want to put more coal on the fire, I'm sure you've heard enough of people disagreeing but well this is a forum and you decided to post (am I going to regret this I wonder)
But yea, just wanted to express my thoughts, have a nice day and I really hope that your wynncraft experience will improve :D

DAMNET I NEED TO EDIT THE TITLE
    ________________________________
i only died like twice. My problem lies with so much useless parts to pad out runtime. The swarms were not necessary at all. The demon was hyped up but it just ended up being another basic boss. Thats part of my problem and if you want to know the rest then reread the review

And i said in replies i was wrong. I know not everybody hates those quests (except a majority does hate crafting levels to the point where jp and salted gave their great responses). I meant everybody i talked to hated those quests.
    ________________________________
Oh and my quote was in response to that guy saying "the demons body would send out something to attack you after 3 organs are destroyed." i didnt claim to know what the devs thought, i just went off of what that poster said.

something i wrote really quickly that's unorganized
wew lad here we go again also i have like no time right now eee sorry for organization problems
-argument about maxie "strugged to do basic magic but she eventually does it" was already covered by me, and you didn't bring any new information in....
-wdym by "more emeralds than the junk merchants have emeralds to buy"? they don't run out of emeralds.
-the gear parkour is fine right now. it's open ended, if you know what you're doing, you can beat the entire thing in under a minute and a half consistently. the most broken thing is probably the elevator, which in my experience, only happens like once every 15 runs
-as for the enemy rush, it's a particularly difficult enemy rush in my opinion, so that's not an issue
-the tokens dropped from the mobs have a "realistic" purpose, instead of opening a random door that seems out of place
-the boss has an interesting, yet manageable gimmick (killing all the minions slows it down, but it's not completely necessary)
-technically corkus didn't suddenly open up (as far as i know). the guy was looking for a person that was
    a. a wynn ambassador
    b. a level 83
now i don't recall many people from wynn above level 83 besides players, so he could've been waiting for a LONG time. after all, he's there right when you create your character and go to selchar for xyz reasons (sister city for example), and all the way until you hit level 83
-they "suddenly" opened up because they wanted to become a province, not because of robots. an underdeveloped civilization probably can't apply for provincehood
-i don't know how you got to your conclusion with aerie of the recluse. i'll be honest here, i doubt you ever fought it. the boss itself is a basic boss, but instead of random enemies "rushing" you, there's a secondary boss that you can kill that will respawn periodicially in the form of an egg. it's nothing incredibly profound, but it's something at the least.

limitations on minecraft, i didn't go very deep here
you seem to be forgetting that wynncraft isn't made from scratch

    it's made using minecraft

    minecraft

this (as far as i know) has serious limitations. even hypixel ended up making another engine to give more options to developers for things as simple as their minigames

    enemy rushes
you also repeatedly complain about enemy rushes. what else do you want it to be? a dungeon with literally no combat ~~underworld crypt actually sort of did that and it was cool~~? because the only way to make a combat-oriented non-enemy rush is to make it boss rush (as far as i know) like LI, and that also gets stale and is in my opinion significantly more draining

it was so basic, it was boring (actually read this)
also you repeatedly describe things as basic. but you have nothing to back that up. half of your "review" was you summarizing things except tacking on the words "boring" and "basic" at the end. so not only did you just summarize, but you did a bad summary too.summarizing it like the way you did, it would be like rating romeo and juliet and saying:

"people love it, but everyone i've talked to said it sucked

the plot was basic and cliche. it was just "hey we love each other but for some reason we can't love each other oh now we both died because we loved each other

shakespeare never shouldve become a playwrite"

wouldn't be a fair summary, would it?

when you summarize something, there are details you have to throw in. reading the summary of a book, you don't see:
"a bunch of people were thrown into a place where they all killed each other except for two people who fell in love like in every story"

yes, you can't give it too much glamour and overhype it, but you have to include some key details in it and be relatively objective

    something about other people
not to mention that you misinterpreted @JaydonTheWarrior 's post, he was saying that it was unrealistic for a king to send his entire army to die to a person that literally massacred 4 heavily armed battle platooned with ease

but then again i feel like jaydon's post was sort of wrong too, the king iirc sent the army to kill the doguns, not the player

    ok now im basically done
like ok having your own opinions is cool but am i not allowed to counter people's opinions

    dnd
ok so now let's get on topic

dnd was made to be long just to be artificially long

    somehow i doubt that?

personally, i, and a hundred (not a joke) other people i've talked to about it enjoyed it (aside from gameplay glitches that were eventually fixed). my evidence that people enjoyed it is this thread, and there's plenty of other threads about it.

so obviously, if the new content made other people enjoy the quest, it wasn't just pointless, tedious, and long?

yeah, there were quite a few enemy rushes (yay talking about this again). with a semi-proper build, they're all pretty easily manageable, unoverwhelming. the last one may feel long, but it sort of keeps you moving, so it doesn't get TOO bland imo.

the quest also brought in some interesting mechanics (cannons were ok)

    story
the story wasn't bad either. you glossed over details on
-the "group think" attitude of the royal family, or basically all of the dwarves (group think is basically "everyone else is doing it, we did it in the past, so we should keep doing this now even though it's immoral", and how it got so extreme they were willing to execute the prince
-the whole brainwashing plan from the book
-groups being oppressed/suppressed, especially those that stand up are poor (slums)/different (doguns)
-natives being kicked out of their lands yet again, this time causing near-extinction (read corkus post eee)

Alright guys. I've read over all of Fluxified Comments and opinions over the past week or so, and I shall now reconstruct this questline to be fixed, and hopefully much MUCH better than the clear pile of shit it is now.

    Part I
So, You go to watch this Play, since its not important, the Characters will just tell you the information you need to know for Lore to the game, acting and animations are a waste of my time.

We are told then to go to this festival, and given a fast travel teleport to get there so we aren't wasting time trying to follow the path there.

We can just delete the filler text at the festival, the Demon dies boo hoo who cares, We can also skip the prison part since that doesnt do anything anyways, lets just have Axelus escape the festival to go to his base.

The player should be given the note at the festival to go to the Library, the heroes are fine, but they should be more unique and not so tanky please i died like twice to the dagger man.
Then we get to the book about all the lying and stuff, I dont really care much about that but like I guess its okay.

Then we go to the Coalition Base, and we can just skip the whole dragon bone thing, since its not important and only there to pad out the runtime and make a reference to Corkus, which honestly would be better off forgotten, Literally nobody likes Corkus.

Then the Guards find the Coalition base, which is super stupid because they should have found it already, but the mechanics of it are fine for the most part, so ill forgive the unrealisticness of it.

After escaping the Base, we go to the Dogun Village, which is also super stupid, like how is it undiscovered? Its RIGHT THERE. Incredibly unrealistic. IN order to fix this, the new Dogun village will be entirely hidden inside a hill.

Of course, then the Rodoroc Scouts wouldn't be able to see the Village, but guess they would spot you entering it or something? I don't know Im not really thinking of solutions in this thread.

Thats basically the end of Part I, and overall I think the changes should be to cut down on dialogue because even with my changes there is waaay too much padding on the runtime with useless 'lore' and 'information.'

    Part II

Okay so you talk to the Dogun chief, I guess thats okay, but damn make them talk faster I dont care about this weird quirk they have it makes me irrationally angry. Then they send you to the Armoury.

This whole section is super stupid, way too many mob swarms and its just padding, so lets just skip it and sneak around to the other entrance.

There is no reason for a pickaxe to be there, so instead of doing that lets just use our MAGIC SPELLS and break down the wooden door.

Once we do that of course we will have to destroy the Siege Machines. In order to make it more realistic, once we destroy one the nearby Rodoroc army will hear the explosion and start opening the door, and we will have to flee, since fighting mob swarms is dumb and we should never do it.

The Power Core of the City is dumb and padding and we already sabotaged the armoury so we can just skip the whole scene, it doesnt matter and its just padding with more mob swarms.

We can just skip the entire Slum area, I dont care about Lore and I definitely dont care about Homeless people, so I dont wanna tread through the sewers.

However emerging from the Kings toilet is super funny, and literally made me laugh for 6 minutes. It's really funny because its like we emerged from a toilet and thats where poo poo goes LOL
However to counteract this the King must be a Giant because otherwise the toilet is too big.

The little stealth portion of getting to the Throne room is dumb and Stealth sections are a big waste of time and way too hard (NOT TO MENTION SUPER UNREALISTIC), so we'll just change it to be a normal hallway.

Then we talk to the King blah blah padding blah blah character development who cares.
    That concludes Part II

    Part III
Part III should just be cut since all it is is crafting a Wand and Necklace and shit to not die when you attack Garheim or whatever its called, but since we're gonna redo that fight, it doesn't matter.

    Part IV
    Okay, here we go everyone!!
So first of all we have to save Axelus, since his dumbass got strung up in a cage.
So basically I think the lava bucket is a dumb idea and it would be more realistic to just use a spell to break the rope holding the cage up, so lets do that instead, less padding.
So after that we get to the war scenes.
WAY TOO MANY ENEMIES. There should be about 1 enemy per section, because people really hate having to fight the current LITERALLY 500 MOBS THAT SPAWN EVERY 10 SECONDS.

You should be able to just walk past all the enemies so you're not forced to fight the stupid Mob Swarms, and get rid of all the walls and stuff, Literally nobody likes fighting mobs and the weird gimmicks are dumb and just padding to make it seem difficult. This is my honest opinion.

So lets just skip all that and get to the Portal. OFC we get there too late and we have to have Garaglyheim or whatever its called. So we enter the portal (Which should be about 5x bigger BTW, so unrealistic) And begin to fight it.

    THE BOSS FIGHT!
I'm not very good at designing boss fights, but right now its dumb so we'll change it. First of all I think the entire current fight is basically padding since there are way too many mobs and the organs system is gimmicky and weird. So I think we shouldn’t enter its mouth and instead just attack its head over and over while its chained down and then it will die.

Once thats done we should just get our reward immediately and finish the quest, nobody cares about this sappy dialogue and filler.

And that's been my improved Dwarves and Doguns questline, as inspired by @FluxifiedGod1. I hope you all enjoy.
