Exactly. Crafted items are on the actual baseline and it makes it extremely clear how poorly many of the obtainables were done in terms of the health curve. This also limits what we can do with bosses in terms of their spells and damage(has anyone noticed that Wybel and Cybel Meteors/Charges only actually deal a small amount more damage as their basic attack?) and generally created a poor feel for items. Bringing crafted items DOWN to an incorrect level would only cement that issue. Bringing obtainables up to where they should be is a far preferable option as it will also make bosses like Cybel less unfair, as generally I tried to keep boss spells dealing a 10000 maximum in any situation, and now you'll be more likely to have more.

It will also more encourage tanking, as the health disparity between glassy or tanky items will be greater now that the baseline is being better respected.

It's kind of funny - people spent ages complaining that everything was nerfs, especially back when it kind of was, but now you're having to argue in favor of a buff.

Interesting, Asphyxia, Unravel, Kickback, Stalactite, Pride of the Aerie, Soul Signal and Charybdis actually got nerfed. I get that the high-health air armor got some nerfs, but the others didn't have very strange health numbers afaik.

Bless the Cancer, Capricorn, Gemini, Hetusol and Sine buffs, this might be some much needed extra reason to use them. (Oh, and technically, there's a Manna and Shajaea buff as well, so that's cool)

Also, Guardian users, grats on the almost doubling of the health bonus. Ya deserved it.

Best balance I'll ever get in this video game.

I'll assume the buffs to keep it more inline with the crafted item?

    BIG OOF

I assume this will also change the maximum hp? or will roll from 1400-3200 now?

When base values on an item change, the old IDs get moved proportionally to the new range. For example a current Strati with 1400 hp has a 70% hp roll, but when we move the base to -3200, the new hp it will have is -3200*.7=-2240.
    A min Strati (2600) has a 130% roll, and will become -4160

So the new range is -2240 - -4160, with -3200 being the average

The life steal and health regen baselines were built off the actual health baseline, which we are correcting armor health too, so we shouldn't need to change ls and hr too much off of this change

It's a buff to health. In a way I guess you could see it as a nerf to ls and hr as they heal less % of your total health per hit, but I don't think that logic is valid

Lifesteal and Hpr have already been rebalanced to the correct value with reference to baseline months ago, we are simply moving to adjust base health with reference to the same baseline with this batch

Hm, overall I guess the buff went as I expected, except tanky items actually got less of a buff in general compared to other items. Heroism, Leo, Rekkr, Gravity, Philophilia, Tinderbox, all get 200 to 500 - Greaves of the Veneer and Sempiternel actually didn't get anything. The only tanky items that got buffs of the same magnitude as "regular health" items seem to be Heph Greaves and Cancer. Likewise for the glassy items - in particular, the Steamjets and Cumulonimbus buffs look surprisingly large (2100 Steamjets to Third Eye's 2450? or for that matter Sine being 2525). This is pretty strange since the original announcement was that tanky items would get more of a buff, yet it's the opposite happening here (aside from some lower-level tanky items like Frontliner). Tanking is already pretty underwhelming, and just becomes more so with this.

Incidentally, I recall Clockwork was nerfed because its health bonus was too overpowering compared to existing armor - is it going to get buffed again now that armor is up to baseline?

Also I suppose us classbuilders can probably adjust the 10k "minimum" to something like 12k now.
