    Mine doed the Same thing, expect it puts the attack speed bonus in the damage formal, then I multiply the element defense by the attack speed.

    This allows for the same gimmick, expect more balanced.

    That's because they're the same formula,
    I mean what he said isn't how it currently works actually.

    The attack speed bonus would cancel out in mine, making our formulas literally the same, with one exception.
    He still places the defense stat first, and not after.

    There is one thing I needed to change actually.
    For some odd reason, you said base damage on the formulas and not gross.

    You also did some weird ass shit with saying my tcracks damage was 1020, even though that was my element defense? My tcracks damage was 3700 lol.

    Oh, I thought you meant base damage. IDK what gross means in relation to the damage using your definition. Typically a 'gross' value is the unchanged/starting value of what you got. Gross is the wrong term to use if that's not the case. It sounded like you were saying the starting value, which I assumed was base damage. What are the parts that make up gross in your formula if it isn't base damage?
    I fixed 2 math errors. 250*4.2 is 1050 not 1000, as in the initial post. This also meant your Tcrack did 2650 not 2700 damage.

    Here does this make it easier?
    I mean it in terms of the economic meaning of the word, which always means tottal income before negative factors weigh into it, like tax.

    Our "tax" this time being defense.

    Literally every damage modification number
    Attack speed, spell damage, the spell itself, everything else.

    Well minus raw melee and raw spell of course.

    I fully support your idea.

    When I realized the things work like they do now I was very dissappointed; it makes no sense that they chose this design.

    They need to redesign this system, because it is susceptable to future bottlenecks (they not being able to release certain content due to defense mechanics being poorly designed)

    Especially the whole fast versus slow weapon discussion. It does not go well with this system. I get the reasoning that slow weapons "penetrate" defences better, but the execution of that is poorly done.
