Dungeons } New Quest { Mother's Wishes } First Attempt {

Notes;
This is my first attempt at a quest. all [s' are actions.

Questline:
[ Stumbling across the woods you find a decently sized log cabin. One that appears of noble status, so you take a look inside to discover a girl staring out the window. ]

Catherine: It's no use, you should leave.
Catherine: What's with the confused look? Are you not here for my posts requiring experienced travelers?
Catherine: I see, then maybe you can help after all.
Catherine: Look- see, behind my bookshelf there is a small crawlspace, if you can find my mother's journal, retrieve it and return it to me I will reward you some coin. I'd do it myself but-
Catherine: Shh...
Catherine: Okay I think she left, I can't afford to move with her home. She can sense my movement. Hurry, please.

[ You move the bookshelf and begin to enter the crawlspace only to stumble and fall down. Around you appears to be a cellar. You try to open the door but its locked. There's a note on the table reading, "Whoever falls down here, I am so, so sorry. I apologize for everything that happens I couldn't bare to face her myself." Turns out you're in a family mausoleums. a trapdoor is hidden under the table, after reading the note you push the table and crawl in. Once inside you hear several whispers.]

???: Catherine?
???: Catherine...

[Moving down the spooky halls you're attacked by sprites of Cahterine's dead relatives.]

???: Why do you despise us?
???: I thought you loved your family...

[As you keep dreading on, bits of dialog are tossed around]

???: Why must you hurts us?
???: Why must you hurt me...

[Finally you reach a door, opening it reveals a dark room.]

???: Have you finally come to see me Catherine?
???: Have you finally come to visit your mother?
???: It's been ages Catherine! I've missed you, all those days I was sick; wishing you were by my side...
???: But it's all okay because you're here now, that's all I wanted.

[Torches are lit throughout the room.]

???: You're not Catherine!
???: What are you doing here!?

[It's screams echo throughout the hall as a female figure appears]

???: What have you done to Catherine! I could feel her through the crawlspace, what have you done?
???: Did you harm my baby?
???: I'll kill you!

[A boss fight breaks out with Catherine's dead mother, after defeat with her last breath she mutters, "All I wanted was to see you...". Suddenly Catherine appears beside you. ]

Catherine: You're not real!
Catherine: You're not her, you never were!
Catherine: You're just my imagination. Stop it! Stop making me feel bad! I regret it, I regret it!

???: Why couldn't you visit me?

Catherine: I wanted to, so bad-

???: I waited day and night for you to arrive....

Catherine: I just-

???: My dying wish was to see you..

Catherine: I couldn't bare to see my mother dying, okay? I couldn't handle the thought of losing you!
So I ran...

???: I love you...

Catherine: I love you...

[Poof. Everything turns to smoke. You're teleported outside the house.]

Catherine: Thank you.
Catherine: Thank you, for the small closure.

...

 

The ending was a bit weird, but apart from that good job!

So basically you start a dialogue, you enter a crawlspace, some other dialogues, you go straight avoiding random mobs that apparently are spirits of the family that attack with no reason, you enter a room where you find Catherine's Mom which is now a ghost and a boss fight with no specification of what can she do, you kill her, some dialogues and finished.
Also, xp? emeralds? What are the rewards?
I hope this is a low quest, it would be too easy for Lvl 30+

 

Can say for sure that the CT definitely didn’t write this, as your style of writing is very different

 

Whom may I ask is CT?

Sorry I'm a bit tired but my intentions where to have a quest where a girl is haunted by her past of not visiting her sick mother, who dies waiting for her, so in a way it distorts her reception of reality. Almost as though her regrets are haunting her in a paranormal way which she tricks you into killing only to resolve it on her own towards the end. It was more about the story and the spirits are attacking 'cause they can see you, and you are clearly intruding.

i honestly think that after having a bit of experience you should become a game master, always helps to have a few different styles of quests. there are light hearted quests like cowfusion or royal trials, and then there’s stuff like this. it would be a great addition to the game. even though you don’t have a lot of experience in the game, you seem to know everything about quest writing some people don’t.

 

It could be a good idea, but you should think more.
This quest is very short, maybe if you add more stages which makes it better but a bit longer, you could improve it.

Haha, thank you. Appreciate it. However I must ask what a game master is. Also I just have a thing for MMORPG's so I enjoy creating concepts for them. The two I've made for these forums include this quest and a support class if you'd like that check that out: I will also probably be creating one more piece of content before I go to bed.

So is this a standard producer on how to create a quest?

 

It should say also what a GM does.

 

Okay, so before I can even begin to design this quest I must do design another one?

 

Just do it in your application. I suggest you play the game a little more though, though you are really good at writing quests, you may need more general knowledge about the game before making a quest. Good luck with your application though.

 

Great idea! It might need a bit more polishing on the formatting and just a bit more detail (rewards, mob stats, etc.) but otherwise I love it! Would definitely play this quest.

There are quite a bit of good, well-written quests ingame.

 

I can’t really explain it, its’s just... different
