In regards to the actual suggestion.

As people have said we do have pets, and it is possible to get them for free via monthly crate if you so choose. However, these do not fight in combat. There's also many other things that need to be considered in this suggestion. How strong are the companions? How many companions would be able to be out at the same time? What kind of abilities would the companions actually have? What would the companions actually be? etc.
The npcs you mentioned are ally npcs (the blue tags), so if it were something like that I could see it possibly working. However, there might be multiple other things that might bug out with this (tripwires, tps, etc.) that I might not know of (as pets are well known to break tripwires, mainly because of the infamous black box in csst), and I have no clue how easy or hard it would be to actually implement this.

 

Ok, everyone should calm down. The situation is simple: they made a low quality suggestion, everyone burned it to the ground, and it was locked. Now you’re making another low-detail suggestion, and everyone is again getting really mad.

Clearly everyone should just calm down , accept each others criticism and stop insulting each other.

This suggestion has potential but you need to explain it more for people to take it seriously. Explain what they would do, how you would get them, etc.

You know just saying the most basic of details won't make your suggestion good? You need to learn how to put LOTS of detail into your suggestions. Just saying the most BASIC of BASIC ideas on how they would work isn't anything. Like yeah, they aren't permanent, and yeah they can die. But how would you get them, what are the purpose of them, how many are there, how much do they cost. There are tons of details you can go into but no you just went with the minimum you could say. The reason you had to add "No salty 10-year-olds allowed on this post go cry to your mums if your mad, this ain't the place" that part, is because of yourself, please for the love of god read "How to suggest". If you aren't going to put any effort in anything don't try. People are trying to help you and if you just tell them to "Cry to their mums" Then just stop, okay?

This was actually a think like four years ago. It was removed because of the Eula (you could only but the pets with real money).
Anyway, this will let people afk farm (also when the pet will kill a mob you won't get the xp just like the old red powder)

now here’s where you’re wrong: every suggestion needs detail. not everyone here has played another mmorpg before (me being one of those people) and people don’t think the same way you do. nobody knows what’s going on inside your head except for you, and if you want people to genuinely give a shit about your suggestion, you should really put more effort into making your suggestions instead of just posting whatever comes into your mind. you need to think whether this is balanced, whether this violates the eula, etc.

the thing is, “companions” (pets) can already be purchased using real money, and if you can simply grind 40 hours to get one, that is violating the eula, which minecraft doesn’t like. and if you’re really so pissed at @King Crimson and @Mac N Cheese Man and wanted to call them salty motherfuckers, even though you intentionally spelt it wrongly, moderators aren’t fucking retards and will know what you were trying to say, and that is against the rules. using swears to insult another person is against the rules, whether it’s censored or even simply implied. the fact that you’re getting angry also shows that the aforementioned two people aren’t the “salty 10 year olds” you think everyone here is.

about that, on your previous post, even though some replies may have been mildly/passively aggressive, it’s been said multiple times in that thread that you need detail to make a good suggestion. if anything, you should have looked at people’s feedback and improved from there, instead of just making an equally bland and dull suggestion again AND calling everyone who tried to correct you a salty little shit.

overall, i seriously think you should take some time to read what other people say about your suggestions instead of rushing suggestions through, otherwise people are just going to continue posting the exact same things on your suggestions and you’re going to get a very bad image on the forums.
