Seasonal Quests

Alright so I feel like the majority of you are probably going to hate this idea, but it addresses an issue that really bothers me...

As you all may know Wynncraft has a variety of Holiday Quests such as Hallowynn, Craftmas Chaos and Meaningful Holliday. In the last one, it is actually meant to be played as if it is currently Christmas in-game... and this bothers me, much more than it should be.

As a result of this, I feel that quests that specifically state or imply that it is a certain time of the year should only be available at certain times of the year in correspondence with real life. For example, Meaningful Holliday would only be available in December, in the days before Christmas.

I am of the strong belief that Wynn should be as immersive as possible, and I feel that having it suddenly just be Craftmas time whenever you do this quest kills a major part of that immersion. While yes, it would remove a small amount of content for a majority of the year, I feel that it should be turned into a seasonal quest. The other option is reworking the quest so that it can be playable at any time of the year, but still have overall themes that convey that warm, kind-hearted Christmas feeling that we all love.

These are just my opinions, feel free to vote in the poll. I may or may not be suggesting some minor changes to Wynn that would overall result in more immersion, so if you'd like to see something like that or have some complaints about mechanics that break the immersion in the wonderful world of Wynncraft, then please tell me in the comments below! I always thought it was weird that I could hit up Santa for a Christmas dinner in the middle of the summer.....

+1 Support, though there would need to be a rotation of seasonal quests. Having just one quest in the rotation would be kinda weird.

 

The southern Hemisphere has Christmas in summer... Thats the "slight" issue with seasonal quests. ALOT of people are not in that season and before you even say it. Holiday ones are just as bad is they are based on culture and religion which only some people celebrate.

 

Is Christmas still December 25th for you guys or....

If so, then its irrelevant because they’re still at the same time, Wynn just has a different climate which is fine.

 

The issue is not everyone celebrates Christmas so its a lil weird. Like u can have a "gift quest" without mentioning Santa or Christmas bcz many religions do have "gift" celebrations. OR wynncraft could have its own holidays and celebrate their fictional characters like "Bobs birth"

 

Some people celebrate Hanukkah, which goes from the 2nd of December to the 10th. Also, personally I live in Australia so the seasonal quests wont work for international players.
North American seasons are quite strange to me, as Christmas time is for the most part decorated as a snowy cold time, but here in Australia we go through 35 degrees Celsius around Christmas time.

 

Again the climate in Australia isn’t relevant because Wynn and the real world are separate.

As to the cultural stuff, complain to the content team not me, I’m just suggesting that they make them less accessible.

 

Just demonstrating how different the northern hemisphere and the southern hemisphere are. We go through summer while America goes through winter.

 

You know, I never thought of that, which is sad, cause it's a really good point. I think the solution to that is to remove the holidays from the ideas, and to just make quests based on the season. I think it would be super cool if there was a four part quest line based on the seasons, where you can only do a quest that season. I don't think that would be a problem because there was never a problem with wynnter, so I don't see why seasons would cause any controversy.
