Yes, exactly.

 

It's exactly like powders. Combine 2 (or 3, or 4 - whatever is most balanced) refined resources of the same tier to get 1 of the same resource of a higher-tier.

Part of the problem here is that the higher-tier resources are intended to be more difficult to get, and force a time investment thanks to the RNG. Unlike Mythics or some odd, they're not too difficult to get; just time-consuming, and that helps balance them out. Adding in an easy out like that would make the top-tier materials far too widely available for use.

 

If the new secret feature was an action house it will be pretty useful to sell ingredients to the lower lvls but with 500 hundred players selling the same ingredients i wonder what will happen to the economy.

Note: This is kinda related to the topic because i’m talking about another way to use the extra ingredients.

But that’s how powders are supposed to be too. Tier 3 and tier 2 materials were extremely rare for me. For about every stack or 2 of unrefined materials, I’d get 3-5 tier 2 materials, and 1 tier 3 material.

Regardless if that’s how rare they’re supposed to be, allowing people to merge lower tier resources for higher tier ones would help get rid of useless items, and help alleviate forcing players to make useless items. Because they’re so rare, I end up not using the tier 3 resources because I can just use my tier 1 resources to reach the next recipe, and still have plenty leftover. So then I just have a bunch of tier 1 resources lying around, and I just need 1 more tier 3 resource to make a spear.

And yes while players will have more higher tier items, they still have to put in a considerable amount of time to get those higher tier resources. So let’s say, idk, for 32 tier 1 refined wood, you can make 1 tier 2 wood. Well if you want more tier 2 wood, you’ll still have to gather more resources. So players already put in the time and work; all this does is just let ultilize more of their work.

 

Not so, regarding powders; each material's ability and durability increase is directly proportionate to the level of the material. A T3 copper has about the same punch compared to a T1 copper as a T3 voidstone does to a T1 voidstone. Powders, on the other hand, have a very different progression and have a much more proportionally higher effect at lower levels. It's like comparing apples and flavored seltzer; sure, they both involve fruit, but that's about as deep as the similarities run.

 

Still though, my points about getting more use out of your resources still stand.

 

BUT you could use 1 tier 1 copper + 1 tier 1 Tin = a bronze ingot. Idk just throwing it out there
