Gonna apologize for this ramble rq, tl;dr I agree somewhat, but don't plan on making immediate changes.

Lvl. 20 seems appropriate to me honestly, at that point a player understands the basics of Wynn and even then it isn't much a Lvl. 20 player has to worry about, since all they get is basic upgrades and RP. Plus since the first upgrade for a spell is at level 16, making it much higher would make early game weaker for every single class.

Also the point of emeralds for spells is to provide some kind of a money sink, especially for ancient knowledge. While it would not 100% solve the economy problem, it would at least help slow it down to an extent.

As for over complication, I agree to an extent. This is partly bc I enjoy coming up with these types of systems, and I recognize that it may lead to a more complicated system overall. However, I do disagree with the spell system being complicated, which it really is not, especially compared to other RPG's. No choices, no menus, just gain special effects when you reach certain levels. Plus the effects themselves are fairly simple.

If I knew every number and how they worked for each spell, I would just change the base stats to be stronger and lock away Spell Research until Lvl. 30-40, but sadly this is not an ideal solution. I do have Spell Research 2.0 in the works to hopefully address many concerns but for now it will stay as it is.

I feel as though this thread has served its purpose, and I have no desire to keep updating it without making drastic changes that essentially scraps 50% of the original intent.

Requesting a lock on this thread, I will be back soon with another suggestion I have been working on.
