World Grand Clock Tower - World Time

It would be cool if each city had a clock tower that could tell you what time it was in the world you are in, and then two huge grand clock towers, in detlas and cinfras.

These clock towers act as a time table for the world you are in, so sunrise = 7:00 AM and sunset = 7:00 PM etc.

Depending on what time it is in the server, different time specific mobs can spawn that have rare drops considering they can only spawn at certain times.

For example, between 12:00 AM and 3:00 AM in the world, we could have Spirits of the night spawn in say Nesaak or some place, and they only spawn there between those hours

After 3:00 AM they disappear.

Each day is about 20 minutes, so each hour would last around 50 seconds. This gives you 150 seconds (2min 30sec) to farm spirits of the night.


Just a fun little idea that I think would add flavor to Wynncraft!

 

Sounds cool, at least regarding the clock towers in general. In terms of the specific mobs maybe, but they would have to have specific rare drops (ex. rare crafting items) that make it worth locking them to specific times of day.

 

And how exactly do you think the time could be done or displayed?

It's Minecraft time, not actual time. World time based off the sun and moon so timezones aren't an issue.


Also when you click the clock tower it will display the time in your chat.

 

Can it even turn night?

I think that it is a neat idea. For some cities the clock tower handles should move and stay with the time enabling you to know the time from the distance. However my idea probably would cause a little bit of lag.

 

This is impossible and flawed because it can’t be day and night in a single minecraft world at the same time.

Back to the suggestion:
I love it! I always have thought that there should be timed events. Rains and storms that create storm spirits, nights, full moons and blood moons with unique mobs for each. New corruption/decay spikes popping up from the ground that players and npcs have to destroy, swarms re-existing, and so on. So much potential!

I like this idea! It could definitely add some more depth to the game! The only thing that might be an issue is lag, other than that this seems like a great idea!

 

What do you mean? Every world in wynncraft runs a seperate world

Same map, but its duplicated so there can be changes on each map independantly

For example, Bobs tomb might be open in one and closed in another

To my understanding this can be done with redstone or commands quite easily, it definitely would be a neat feature too have, I remember i used to play another server and someone rigged one up on a creative plot and it worked quite well! I would hope too see this added for cities like ragini, Troms, Nemeract, Deltas, Corkus City, and Cinifras which would have the main clock i would imagine!, anyways good luck with getting this too happen since it would add onto the authenticity of wynn!

Would the time of sunrise/sunset be affected by seasons? So like in 'winter' would the night last longer, etc.?
