World Limited Time World Bosses / World Bosses

    This has probably already been suggested, but here goes:

    My main idea is to add world bosses/bosses that require 20+ players to defeat. There would be a variety of around 5+ different ones, and they would spawn over the weekend/determined day at a random time within a world.
    Once one of them has spawned, players would get a message broadcast throughout the server that tells them the world, it's coordinates, the name of the world boss, and how long they have to kill it before it leaves/despawns.

    My main idea for rewards that these bosses would drop lies in the 1.18 update. I read on the changelog that many of the top tier ingredients that will be used for crafting will have to be obtained from high lvl mobs/bosses/mini bosses, so that got me thinking about this reward. I'd picture the reward being an ingredient that you could get only from a specific world boss and nowhere else. I also thought about having limited bosses that spawn apart from the normal 5.

    An example of a normal world boss that could spawn year-round would be:
    "Amadel's Return" (Featuring a really buffed up amadel that's back for revenge)
    This, as well as all the other normal world bosses would drop a rare crafting item that is related to them lore-wise and cannot be obtained anywhere else.

    An example of a limited world boss would be: "The Pumpkin Zombie's Haunting" (From the distant land of pre-1.12 wynncraft, he's back to exact his revenge on the players that dupe-glitched his helmet and made it worth a lot less)
    He would only spawn during late october and he would drop some extremely rare crafting item that is only obtained from winning the battle.

    As stated earlier it would take 20+ players in order to defeat these world bosses as well as players having to kill them within a certain time limit.
    This idea has been in my mind ever since they announced crafting items and I thought I should share. I believe that some sort of grand scale event like this would be very fun for players, due to the limited/rare loot, and great for the community due to it adding a whole new level of cooperation between guilds/players as they try to figure out strategies on how to kill these things without being killed themselves.

    Now back to waiting for 1.18...

    I actually like this. It would add even more player interaction and would be useful for ingredients!
    We may have to add more mob AIs because I'm not sure how it'd work

    EDIT: it's not because I'm a gm that this has any more chances of getting in the game btw, I just like the idea

    I mean it's not a terrible idea but uh
    Basically here's how you win
    bring a warrior for warscream buff
    bring like 2-3 mages for heal spamming and shutting down every melee mob in existence with ice snake
    bring an assassin for easy spin blinds
    everyone else goes archer and arrow storm spams (and occasionally uses bomb if there are minions).
    Dead.
    If they have immunity to debuffs somehow then ignore this and continue.
    Wait if they have immunity to debuffs assassin could just steal it from them and also get immunity to debuffs.
    Huh.
    Ok maybe bring like 50/50 assassins/archers instead.
    There's also the true enemy we all forget.

    Yeah ik, I should probably update the original post because I was thinking about these world bosses having unique mechanics that would deviate from the standard wynncraft boss battle. I mainly wrote this as well because I was getting tired of the whole, "Bring a mage for him to spam healing, an archer to do dmg, etc..." while fighting a boss. Anyway, in the end i'd just like this to be a very unique and fun experience while being able to get some limited/very rare crafting ingredients.

    I like the idea of world bosses, provided when they're implemented they're different than what this suggestion depicts them to be.

    They should drop gear, not materials / ingredients. The one ingredient would be rare and have inflated prices. An item would be acceptable since mythics are already wayy too rare and they fit their price. The ingredient would cost too much for too little, unless its OP then the ingredient shoujldnt exist at all.

    if it takes 20+ players someone will still come up with a solo build

    The main principle behind having world bosses drop ingredients instead of items is to cause differenciation from normal wynncraft boss battles, and try to connect this idea with the 1.18 crafting system. I would picture the ingredient being dropped as an ingredient that is as rare as the player wants it to be. In other words, as long as they are constantly on the lookout for the event, and willing to put in the time to beat it, they should be able to find the ingredient no problem. Also, i'm not suggesting the ingredient be op either, just very unique in what it could contribute to something it's crafted with.
    Here's an example: just for fun let's say there's a boss called "King Slime," and let's say he drops a slime ball. This unique ingredient when combined with a crafting recipe, be it a weapon or armor, gives said item jump boost 2. Now, as ridiculous as this may sound, this example mearly shows something that hasn't been used in wynncraft before: jump boost. I'm not suggesting they add jump boost as this is only an example of a mechanic they haven't added to the game. I would like these items to be new and special but not game breaking while also related to the boss that dropped it in some way. These unique items would add more twists and fun to builds due to them adding new mechanics, while also being better than a simple jump boost 2. These items wouldn't be just for fun either as players would want some sort of reward from completing these events. A balance would be necessary. I would understand some of the ingredients that are dropped from limited time bosses to be worth a lot of money as they are not able to be obtained by fighting normal world bosses. However, the player would not obtain the limited ingredient at their own expense, as they would have missed it only if they were not on the server for the week/month during which the event takes place, or not willing to put in the effort to beat the event. These limited time events also guarantee a constant return of players to the game as they would not want to miss out on a limited item.

    On to the subject of someone creating a build to solo a world boss. No doubt about it. If the boss was a standard wynncraft boss, someone would take it upon themselves to make a way to grind these different bosses to profit off of selling the drops. As stated earlier in this thread, this idea also sprang from the fact that I feel that the boss battles in wynncraft get too repetitive. What I envision as a world boss battle would combine some sort of puzzle/minigame aspect that would last for 3/4ths of the event, while a normal boss battle would occur at the end. What I am aiming for is a boss battle that would require cooperation between multiple players, (20+) as an example, during the minigame part. This puzzle/minigame section wouldn't really require the combined intellect of all 20 people to finish it, but rather would have people focus on different sections of the minigame, to complete it as a whole, and get to the boss. It will be difficult to find a balance between fun, tedious, and lore within these battles, but I'm sure wynncraft could handle it. In the end, as long as wynncraft incorporates world bosses that drop unique crafting items I'd be happy.

    Anyway, I hope this clarifies some of the information that I didn't include in the original post due to lack of time. Thank you for replying as it helps advance this idea and also helps it get noticed.
