    Even if he did, he approved of the idea a while back ago, then forgot he did.
    he, has a tendecy to forget stuff.

    Well, not all of them, he specifically approved to the last 2, being "Interesting and viable options"
    Then never said anything else.

    Wait, how does the base defense of a class work?

    I'd like to give my own take on this idea, but I don't know how some defenses work, and I need that information filled in.

    I don't know what the base defense is for each class (in percent)
    However I am getting from this is that:
    - Defense only affects neutral damage which is unfair because agility affects all damage
    - Elemental defense is absolute (damage dealt - X) instead of relative (damage dealt x 100-X%)
    -There's a damage reduction cap that warrior can reach pretty easily.

    Honestly I don't see why there's a need for a damage reduction cap. Even with 100% neutral damage resistance, you still need to worry about any elemental defense.

    It's not that difficult to get 100% neutral resistance and near-invulnerability to elemental damage (points to upcoming Praesidium changes). Even then, very few mobs do more than 1000 damage in any element.

    Due to the way element defense works, getting 100% element reduction is very easy in the current system, so also having 100% natural breaks the game.

    My system however fixes both issues, 100% element damage reduction and natural wouldn't be a possibility

    I like your fix, although it would mean most elemental defenses would have to be rebalanced somewhat (as well as powders).

    The element system needs a rework anyway, in my opinion.

    Defense deserves to affect elemental damage in some way. Agility does already, and there's no reason defense should be any less powerful than agility.

    It might be a good idea to add an attribute to bosses that pierces a percent of the player's elemental defense. The attribute could also be used for some rarer weapons. Generally this piercing shouldn't be higher than 10-15 percent at most, but it would prevent complete immunity to elements without making them too weak either.

    The pricing thing is unneeded, in fact, do the math as I suggested, and you would realize you would basically always take element damage.

    Actual the bigger concern would be people taking to much damage with these changes, the pricing thing just makes that worse.


    More then likely element defense would need to be increased on most items with the new system.


    Ps. Nothing is broken about element defense with the new system in place, just the old. I'm not sure if your suggesting fixes for this thread or the current system. If your doing it for the current system, please post them somewhere else, its not very relavtent to the suggestion.
