Elemental Defense

So, I've had a couple questions about elemental defenses for a while.

What multipliers affect the elemental pierce of your weapon? All of them?

In case the question is confusing, say we have this situation:
You have a weapon that always does 100 damage in X element
You're hitting an enemy with 110 elemental defense in X element

Which of the following would possibly allow you to deal damage to that enemy?

Strength
Criticals
SP Bonus (Defense -> Fire Damage etc)
Elemental Damage %
Spell Damage %
Courage
Curse
Chain Lightning
Quake
Spells

To my knowledge, all of these do help you penetrate the defense. These boosts are added before the elemental defense subtraction.
Spells alone do not help, as their boosts are calculated after the elemental defense subtraction. Quake and Chain Lightning can be regarded essentially the same as other spells, such as Mage's Meteor.
