I have outlined below a few ideas to rework loot chests. I do not believe loot chests need a huge re-do, but current they are very disorganized. I loot run a lot and especially idea #1 is starting to bother me.
I am not exactly sure how these are determined to be placed, however especially in Corkus there seems to be the most mistakes. To be quite honest, I might include re-placing every loot chest in Wynn.

    1. Fix the locations of chests
As many of us know, there are more than a few places with more than one loot chest. Please fix these and many others... here are a few examples:
    And many more...

    2. Cooldown
Yes, of course we need one. However, when doing /class or changing a world or even getting disconnected resets the cooldown and we have a wait a long time to open a chest.
Here is how to fix it:
-If you use /class, there should never be a cooldown timer unless opening the same chest. To fix this, all that should happen is you have to wait a specific amount of time for the chest to respawn. This makes it much more organized and it affects the other players as well if you have already just opened that chest.
-If you are changing worlds and the chest is there again, the cooldown timer should be in effect. Each singular chest should have its own cooldown timer for each player. If you change worlds after a world restart and were in the middle of a loot run, you could finish that loot run on a different world. The chests you already opened would have a cooldown, and the others would be able to be opened.

    3. Time Value of Chests
Why does how long a chest matter how much loot is in it? This almost takes away the whole point of tiers in the loot chest (not completely, but partly). If another player opened a chest 20 minutes or 60 minutes before you, it should not depend on how much loot you get.
Instead relating to #2, depending on the tier the chest should always have the same amount of loot and make it take longer for a chest to respawn for other players. However, this would also slightly effect loot bonus. A way to fix that at the same time is to have a specific % of lb equal to a specifc amount of items added to your chest. I recommend about 10%/item
For example, if a tier 3 chest spawned with 15 slots filled and you had 100% loot bonus, there would be 25 slots filled in your chest. I do not know what determines what goes in each slot, but I think that could remain the same.

Please leave feedback and comments below! Thanks!

Not sure what to say about numbers 2 and 3, but for number 1 - it's not as easy as you'd think to fix that kind of stuff. Loot chests positions are stored in one long yml file, and finding two loot chests that are right next to each other just by looking at the file is difficult. Not saying that I don't agree with you though, that's definitely a problem - just not one that's easy to fix.

none of these ideas seem bad, but this would take too much effort to fix a problem that isnt much of a problem

There isn't a way to organize them by location?
Thats a problem from the start - should have created a file for each location. (Like a file for each territory, like Molten Heights, Sky Islands, Corkus etc.) Would take forever to sort and do that now :/

Would be nice to have a rework to loot chests - could be a major part of a future update however it is definitely hard to re-code it

Yeah, the way it's set up at the moment usn't the greatest. It's possible to make seperate files for each location but it'd take ages to sort the loot chests, so probably not worth it.

Couldn't one write a program that parses said yml file, chucks it into an array and finds chests close to each other?

Yeah, I would think this wouldn't be too difficult, although perhaps a little time-consuming depending on how the check is programmed.

I don't see where you see a problem with those lootchests.

This is a pretty useless thread.

While I agree with 1&2 I disagree with 3. Some loot chests are harder to get to than others, or at the least they take more time to get to thus will be opened less frequently. A player that takes the time and effort to get to those isolated/hidden by puzzle chests should be rewarded more then a player that was just running around and took a little detour to get a loot chest. Having chests contain various amounts of loot depending on when they were last opened rewards players for getting harder to get chests, otherwise there would be little point in having them since no one would bother to open them.

the lootchests are indeed quite dated as they are very old , a huge redo might happen when the economy update arrives.

i would say that 2 t4 or t3 is fine but if it was 3 or more in one place then it would be too much

Yes, but it still takes more time to get to and do then most chests.
