World Make Npc Able To Speak With A Voice

Sometimes when I play the quest at some point I have to open the chat to continue reading their dialogue but there are monsters around coming to me and it becomes hard (Not hard but annoying) to continue reading.
What I want to suggest is to make NPC able to speak with a voice.

Is this possible: Yes it is, there are many videos about NPC who speaks with an actual voice and one of them is grain map about how to build the ultimate Minecraft house.

First, the Nonquest NPC (The NPC who speaks always the same dialogue) speaks when you click it or when you close to him or disable it entirely.
Second, the quest NPC speaks when you click it or disable it entirely.

NOTE: I know that I need to put much detail thread but this is what I came with.

it would be a great idea if wynncraft was its own game, but this is only a fantasy for now.

 

The thing is, that the speech is done via a resource pack. Meanwhile, wynn's pack is supposed to be as small as possible to allow an instant download for anyone. Adding all of the sounds into the pack would potentially make it hundreds of megabytes, which would force it to be downloaded from an external source. This obviously isn't too friendly towards new players who simply want to try the server out, and making it optional would make the work go to waste if the majority didn't even use it.

In addition to this, it'd also require dozens, if not hundreds of voice actors for all NPCs, which we don't have the money to hire, nor enough qualified volunteers for.

On the other hand, we have Tanti who's willing to record all voice lines and sound effects of the game all by himself. What a legend! Isn't that right, @Tantibus ?

 

too much work, we would have to get many dubbers, which wouldn't really be a problem, but they would have to spend tens or even hundreds of hours on all the dialogue in wynn. Even if only the important ones from quests had dialogue, It would be A LOT of text to read.

 

While a very cool idea (trust me I would love voice actors for Wynn NPC's) it would only cause more problems than its worth. As mentioned by others before me, hiring enough voice actors, resource pack constraints, and the sheer size of the files needed, just too many problems for the benefits it would provide. Maybe if Wynn was its own game

I am not sure if this will solve anything but this is what I can think of.

The problems are two.
1-We needs Voice actors.
2-It needs to make attention to many people so they download it.

First, how to get voice actors.
The community will be the voice actors.

How:
There are events in the community, so if someone famous in the community makes an event that says read the dialogue and made at a competition there will be many people who will join and the best voice actor for the dialogue will be entered to a list of those who voice a character in Wynncraft and if the voice actors were not that good we can redo it.

How the event will work:
First, every two months there will be four dialogue and a vote for the best voice actors for the past two months event and the four winners will decide the next four dialogue.

How you can be a voice actor:
There will be a page to see the dialogue and you will read the dialogue when you press the button that will record your voice if it was bad you can delete it and redo it and then send it to them.

The winners:
They can voice some other NPCs.

Then the second problem will be solved because this idea will be there for over 3 years or more.

There are 320 NPCs (From Wikipedia)
1-Nonquset dialogue: 78 NPCs
2-Quest starter dialogue: 115 NPCs
3-Quset mid dialogue: 127 NPCs

Special
1-The story dialogue (something like "you feel weak when entering the cave")
2-Talking mushroom

No, it'd require a fundamental change into how players get started with the game, which would severely hurt the number of new players we gain, potentially killing wynncraft. No one's going to try out a new unknown server with requirements such as downloading half a gigabyte big resource pack, when they could try out another server where you can log in instantly.

This wouldn't be an effective way of getting voice actors:

-With your system, it'd require a whole website to run on, and years of work considering the amount of dialogue and the slow pace of gaining actors.

-Let's say a single person could do around 3-6 different voices. This would still mean that we'd need 50-100 voice actors. Event winners or not, this is still a too large amount to get from the community. Especially finding ones that fit the following criteria:



Requirements:
-The voice actor actually wants to record the lines.
-The voice actor speaks fluent english and has a good voice.
-The voice actor owns high quality recording equipment.
-The voice actor can change their voice tone to fit a situation/emotion when needed.

Issues:
-Dialogues are changed really often, either to fix mistakes, lore discrepancies or via a quest revamp.
-All dialogue would need someone from the team to guide the voice actor about the situation the dialogue's in, and how they should read it, effectively using precious time.
-For such a small thing, it's hardly worth the effort.

 

I understand know, and thx for replying.
But there are some points I want to say something about:
1-It is not a requirement to join and play Wynncraft.
2-This resource pack is for the players who played Wynncraft for three months or more and want something like this.
3-The point is to make an unofficial resource pack (And it will not be very good because it is unofficial).
4-I know it is very hard but the point of making it an event is to make some people who want to voice a character from Wynncraft to do it and release it to us.

I don't really know how much a website cost to run for over 3 years.

So I have thought of another idea:

To make a youtube channel and there will be someone who runs it and he will receive videos from people who want to voice a character from Wynncraft then he will post those videos.
Maybe I will make this channel (I don't know).

No, this was after I understand that it will be very hard work to put in a resource pack with 320 NPCs who have different voices and in the end, it will be super laggy to put for the server.
Then I said to make it unofficially.

For not all hope is lost for you.
While this is a crappy game suggestion based on Every thing stated above.
There is an unofficial mod that already adds some voice acted quest, they aren't high quality, however it was a test of concept.

So it is possible, simply threw an unofficial mod, which would take a lot of effort to do.

No. Just like everyone else says..: It is not possible. Did you read the thread about suggesting? I recommend doing that before you post a thread on your own.

 

It is possible to make it with a mod and maybe with a resource pack.
I used the mod and it is working properly but sadly it is just for one quest and I tried to add some audio to at (The audio was terrible obviously) but I didn't know how to do it so, for the time being, I won't do anything and maybe in the future I will learn about the language of Java (And I really know how hard to learn it that is why I give up for the time being).

And yes I read the thread about how to suggesting.

Why not just villager sounds?

 

That kind of goes against the point of Wynn which is that you don't need mods to play. And if it's an unofficial mod why is it in general suggestions?

 

When first I posted it was about adding voices for NPCs in a resource pack (which we use it to see the Wynncraft world) but after seeing the replays I realize that it will be heavy for a resource pack to have 350NPCs voices (I was dumb to think it will fit :) ) then there was someone who posted a mod about voices for Wynncraft NPCs and it turned to a suggestion about an unofficial mod for NPCs voices.
