    Its kinda cool! I think we cal all agree that it would be nice for wynn to have more customizable features... But some of yours seem broken OP and what do you do when you reset your skill points and don't have the intel?

    As I mentioned, balance isn’t my goal with the research. Could you also specify what features seem OP? Would help me adjust them if I have a good reason to. Also not sure by what you mean regarding resetting skill points w/o intel?

    Removed Intel scaling, fixed a few typos and added ToA resetting for Research.

    Want to apologize for no new research charts, LucidChart is being a pain to work with and I have had less time to actually make the charts. I promise a double-post soon with Bash and Bomb Arrow, with Meteor coming in the future.

    Minor change removing RS gains from the same levels as AS gains, just prevents overloading of RS since some research you can't gain on every spell.

    Also finally released Bash, Spin Attack, and Meteor charts, let me know what you think!

    I like the idea of having more control over your character's spells and play style. The only problem I see at the moment is that players might regret picking certain upgrades for spells and ruining their playthrough. Perhaps the Tower Of Amnesia can be used to allow players forget their research and start from the ground up?

    Added that just recently, 3 LP resets all research exluding RP drop chance upgrades and refunds all AS and RS, plus 80% of RP spent on upgrades.

    I updated the Mock-GUI's so that they no longer show information that was changed due to recent changes. Spell charts on the way, still a W.I.P. as I plan on releasing them less often but with more than 1 in each shot. Will try that out for a bit and see how it goes.

    What you’re forgetting is that complexity does not mean depth. Let’s say you’re a new player that joins the server. You’re already going to be overwhelmed and then have this incredibly complex system that you need to read a few pages before maybe understanding it. That’s not good game design.
    This is not a good suggestion because it is overly complex. A normal skill tree would work just as well and be easy to understand and use for new players.

    Thats why you unlock at it lvl 20. And you progress slowly. It really is not that overwhelming if you think about it.

    RP for killing monsters.
    Use RP and emeralds to get cool stuff.
    At certain levels gain extra items for better stuff.

    It essentially is a skill tree with a little bit more depth to it, I really do not see where players would be like "this is way too complex I cannot handle this."

    Also it is not a few pages, it is 1 page at most, and even then that really is not a lot to understand.

    V 1.2.1 Minor Update 2 - Released

    * Added Uppercut and Ice Snake charts
    * Reduced RP gain from kills from Monster Level/4 to Monster Level/10, due to calculations revealing it to be way too easy to gain enough RP for research compared to scrolls and emeralds.

    I want to apologize for the lack of updates, making charts for classes I am not as familiar with is not easy, and has been getting quite tedious. I still plan to release more, but they will be a bit more scarce. Feel free to give me any ideas you have!

    I love your system with the spells it is amazing.
    But i want to use at least the basic spells at level 1-20 it is much more fun to play with spells instead of not to use spells in level 1-20.

    You still have access to the spells, 100%

    Research is not replacing spell unlocks, it replaces spell upgrades. For example on Archer you still get Arrow Storm at Lvl. 1, Escape at Lvl. 11, etc. but you don't automatically unlock the Arrow Storm upgrade at Lvl. 16, you have to research that. Think of it as like you grow your ability to cast new spells with experience, but to make them stronger you have to research them further to create more powerful effects.

    I completely forgot about all this, might bring it back and work on some spell charts again. I have more ideas flowing for things like subclasses but I really think I should finish this first before I make another thing

    V1.2.2 Released!

    No system changes, just added Multiattack spell chart. I have been in the dark for a while, partly due to school but also because I have another system I am working on (hinted to it in a previous post) and I have gone through at least 3 different versions of the system, largely because I keep forgetting to write down my ideas :(

    Really want to finish the charts so I have an excuse to release it though, so I plan on hopefully releasing more (and I am actually serious this time.) Have a good day!

    Hey look, more failed attempts by me to keep this up.

    Think I might abandon LucidChart and just go with Forums formatting or Minecraft screenshots of the mock GUI, LucidChart just isn't working well for me anymore. If that doesn't work it might be time to put this thread to bed, I still want this to be a thing but creating names/effects for 5-9 Research upgrades per spell is a bit much for a single person to do.

    Spell Research V1.3 RELEASED

    Changing the Spell Charts to forums formatting. This is both for aesthetic and balancing purposes. It is impossible to fix a spell chart without redoing the entire chart, as LucidChart only lets me save 3 documents at a time. I also prefer the look on the forums, since it gives me more leverage on formatting without needing to worry about placement as much.

    Also hope to re-balance some of the charts. 20% elemental damage on some heavy hitting spells is quite insane, so I plan to make it 10% per rank across the board, still leaving out 1 element per spell.

    Let me know what you guys think of the new format. Thanks for all of the support!

    Im split 50/50 with this, I like it but I think it will overcomplicate the spell system which is already pretty complicated for new players. (besides who wants to spend emeralds on spells eh?) +1 suppourt since i like the concept, prehaps make it for higher levels
