World New Class: Monk

    I just realised that one thing with Wynncraft is that we have a Fighter Class (Warrior), a Wizard Class (Mage), a Ranger Class (Archer) and a Rogue Class (Assassin). We don’t have a Bard Class, but I’ve never played D&D, so I don’t really understand these things, but yeah.


    So here’s my first (and probably only) Class suggestion. I never grasped the concept of damage very well, so don’t stone me.


    THE MONK.

    “Although Magic in itself is strong, no magic is as strong as Soul Magic. A strong soul means a strong mind and body, and although Monks are not as adept at harming others, their skills can boost the morale of their allies in combat.”

    basically a shitty mage in a nutshell

    Damage: 3

    Defense: 4

    Range: 1

    Spells: 5

    Main Weapon: Spiked Glove

    Okay, this may seem like a suggestion that will piss off other people a lot, but the Earth textures for Assassin should be swapped to this class and a similar but visibly different texture should be added for Assassin. Or it could be the other way round. A good amount of damage for an endgame Legendary Glove would be about 275 Damage on normal Attack speed (if I’m not wrong that’s much lower than mage)

    This class is focused around the defense element. This may seem strange, but as the description says, the monk uses soul magic to boost its elemental defense. Warriors will still base around the defense element and have the 25% defense, I just thought Defense would be more fitting for this class rather than Strength.


    Spell 1: Triple Hit (R-L-R)

    Release 3 powerful hits towards your enemy, dealing massive damage.

    (Basically a shitty multihit)

    Tier 1:

    Mana: 7

    Damage: 200%


    Tier 2:

    Mana: 7

    Damage: 215%

    Strong Arm, hits land faster.

    +25% Air Damage


    Tier 3:

    Mana: 7

    Damage: 225%

    Absorption, absorb 1 heart of damage from the enemy after hitting.

    +25% Air Damage, +10% Fire Damage


    Spell 2: Ether (R-R-R)

    Transform into an Ethereal state, boosting your physical strength and speed.

    Tier 1:

    Mana: 4

    Speed Boost: +30%

    Melee Damage Boost: +5%

    Duration: 3 Seconds


    Tier 2:

    Mana: 4

    Speed Boost: +40%

    Melee Damage Boost: +10%

    Duration: 4 Seconds

    Enlightenment: Lasts longer, more potent effects.


    Tier 3.

    Mana: 3

    Speed Boost: +50%

    Melee Damage Boost: +15%

    Duration: 5 Seconds

    Jump Boost: +30%

    Weightless: Add Jump Boost and increase duration.


    Spell 3: Bond (R-L-R)

    Summon the forces of nature itself to aid you.

    (Summon an Earth Spike that stuns enemies)

    Tier 1:

    Hunger: 10

    Damage: 400%

    Stun: 1 Second

    Knockback: 4 blocks

    +50% Earth


    Tier 2:

    Hunger: 9

    Damage: 450% per spike

    Stun: 4 seconds

    Knockback: 5 Blocks

    +Elemental Bond, 2 more spikes (so 3 spikes in total) which home in on targets

    +50% Earth


    Tier 3:

    Hunger: 8

    Damage: 250% (per spike) and 300% (per lightning bolt)

    Stun: 5 Seconds

    Knockback: 0 blocks until all hits have landed, then 6 blocks

    +Earth and Sky, summon 3 lightning bolts drastically increasing damage.

    +20% Earth, 70% Thunder


    Spell 4: Spiritual Burst (R-R-L)

    Damage and Knockback foes and heal allies around you at the cost of your own health.

    (don’t know if this is possible but yeah)

    Tier 1:

    Mana: 7

    Damage: 150%

    Knockback: 5 blocks

    Health Reduction: 30% (of your hp bar)

    Radius: 5 blocks

    Heal is basically the amount of damage done (so if there is one enemy and you do 125 damage per se, everyone is healed with 125 hp, but if you’re surrounded by Rowdy Wybels and you do 125 to each one, assuming there are 20, everyone is healed by about 2.1k hp) and it’s over 8 pulses (so rely on your local mage for heals, this is more of a solution if you’re getting surrounded and you need both heals and a burst of damage to everyone, also it uses up a ton of hp from the Monk, so it’s not reliable)


    Tier 2:

    Mana: 6

    Damage: 175%

    Knockback: 6.5 blocks

    Health Reduction: 25% (of your HP bar)

    Radius: 6 Blocks

    Heal: Same

    +40% Water


    Tier 3:

    Mana: 5

    Damage: 190%

    Knockback: 7 Blocks

    Health Reduction: 15%

    Radius: 6 Blocks

    Heal: Same

    +Karma, 10% of the Damage from each enemy is returned to you as HP, you could potentially gain HP from using this, like say on bosses like Blade of Shade or (if you’re really fucking up hard) Orange Wybel/Cybel.

    +50% Water

    I never really grasped the concept of damage and how it works very well, and in fact, I just made this because a) I was bored and b) for fun and criticism. Just would like to hear your thoughts.

    The fundamental problems with new class suggestions are that it’s way too much work to add a whole other set of items and balance the items and spells, they don’t fit in the lore, and they are just knockoffs of existing classes, which in this case is the mage. It doesn’t sound appealing when you say it’s, “basically a shitty mage in a nutshell.” Why on Earth would I want to play that class then?

    i don’t really expect it to be added tbh, just wanted feedback to see how well this would fit into the game assuming all problems were with the balance

    I gotcha. I would just ask some of the peeps on the item team since they know way more about balancing than any of us.

    You know who would also be interested in this? @icebreaker He made a ton of classes in the Your Work section. I'd ask him for ideas and tweaks.

    This actually needs details about the spell effects (sounds and particles) , i kinda like the earth spike spell, try to add colors to ur suggestion and details the spells even further C:
