A New Tier Of Emerald Currency! (stoopid Fatty Rants About Something That Has Been Done 1000 Times)

Alrighty! I've had this idea for awhile and today I explained it to a crowd of people in Detlas to get their opinions. They liked it, so some of us (@Peeves @samsungplay @SaltyKing @Cqspar ) brainstormed and greatly expanded on my original ideas, and now I need somewhere to write all these ideas down! (and hopefully get even more support and ideas from the community)

So, getting into it now:
Do you ever struggle with being so rich that all that LE takes up valuable bank space? (a problem I certainly can't relate to but am sure I know some people who can.. *cough*@SilverMirror ). Do you ever struggle with trading large amounts of LE stacks when someone agrees to sell you that expensive mythic you've always wanted? (again, I can't relate :c). Or, perhaps you just want to experience that awesome, empowering feeling of holding your entire net worth condensed into a single item? (finally something I can relate to!)

Well, it looks like you need a new way to compact those emeralds even more than before!
INTRODUCING: CRYSTALIZED EMERALDS! (name very much subject to change)
A brand new currency tier that you get one of by condensing 64 liquid emeralds!

Where to obtain them? Mainly Me, Peeves, and Cq came up with this idea: (that I like the idea of very much indeed) You can't do the conversion at any old merchant in any old town. There's a single merchant throughout all the provinces that you must venture to in order to convert those LE of yours. On a secluded, peaceful floating island near Ahmsord resides the merchant that allows you to convert 64 LE into 1 CE. (and then, lets just assume "Crystalized Emerald" is the final name if this gets implemented) I was also imagining the merchant in the middle of a large open cavern underneath the surface of the island, with lots of spooky, yet beautiful crystal veins flowing around the cavern walls, illuminating the whole cave.
(but then again, that doesn't have to be a thing if the final name is not "Crystalized Emerald".)
Also, another idea: There could even be a whole quest (I have some cool ideas for that! ) required to gain access to the merchant. (I'm also a big fan of this idea, as we don't want any old average adventurer to have access to these fantastical emeralds!)

Now then. What about the sprite? For now the idea I liked most (It also fits with the name "Crystalized Emerald" but can be changed to anything depending on which name is most popular) is a nether star item. But: it has a quirk! Surely you know all about what enchantments look like in survival, vanilla minecraft right? Good. It has that purpleish sheen/hue that shines over the enchanted item at certain intervals. Well, I was thinking this nether star should have just that, except the sheen is green! (shouldn't be too hard to do I think)

Well, thats almost it for now. Sorry for rambling but I wanted to go into a lot of detail.
Now, I think theres one last thing:
The name. Its obvious I have a clear favorite, but I wanted to let the community decide! It's probably the most important part, so go vote on the poll!!!

Higher tier currencies have been suggested before and always rejected. I don’t have a problem with them, but that’s just how it is.

to be fair almost all of these are 2+ years old and none are really thought through further than 'more compact emeralds'

 

That’s pretty much this thread. You can’t add that much to it without some of it feeling unnecessary. It would be more convenient if the merchant was at a bank like Cinfras instead of far away and locked behind a quest. The quest probably would just be fluff anyway since it’s only purpose is to have access to that merchant.

I think it had something to do with the maximum amount of money a player can have being the amount they can store, and this would allow for them to store 64x as much money, worsening inflation.

 

Eh... idk, beats me. At most you could argue that it's unnecessary because of the extra bank space we have now, but then again it doesn't hurt anyone and all it takes is to add a few merchants around. It's not like inflation is going anywhere any time soon.

Not exactly needed for the general populace but for some people it would be rather useful.
Looking at you Psych, silver ehh who else is rich.. Putrid?
Its not like this would have an adverse affect on people and before you say there is a max of how much you can hold we all know that most of the rich people have alts which carry stuff around for them. I mean just look at Silver xD
But considering the small amount of people that would actually use this.... its not really needed...

"im selling this mythic for a lot of LE, so much so i can't it all in the trade window at once"
"i wish i could buy this mythic worth more than the trade window can hold, but i can't trust this guy, if only i had this one emerald thing worth the same as 64Le to solve this problem"

There's a major flaw in your suggestion...
...Nether Stars are used for Soul Points!

 

I found another major flaw...
Y'all do realize... that emerald... is a crystal?
Crystallized Emerald would literally mean the same as emerald.
Emerald Blocks are basically compressed emeralds.
Emerald Stars would mean that they have to heat emeralds so much that they go supernova, something they most certainly cannot do in that time period.
I'm more for Gaseous Emeralds, and the building where you could trade it would be like a big fire with a pot on top, with a green slush in it. A large glass tube would be put over it to catch the gasses, which would then be placed in a bottle. You could maybe use Dragon's Breath, because it looks cool, or potion of leaping for the green effect. Or just, y'know, make a new texture.

the soul item that wastes a slot in your hot bar is using is already using the nether star
also i don't believe that you can easily change the purple hue
if you mean by the resource pack, it would have to change all other enchanted hues (like holding the quest book) green




also for a name i would have thought up of something unoriginal like compressed emeralds




also the poll should have a "Should This Be Added" kind of copypasta, rather than a name decision
seeing as you have a specify option, the name decision should've just been decided with comments
