World Better Nether

    The nether is, in my opinion, a very under-rated place by the developers, and is forgotten by the players: pvp is only for those who are extremely skilled players. The nether can be improved to a point where it gains massive popularity and is friendly for all level characters by making it a pvp enabled grinding spot.

    This can be a lot work, but developers can choose a plenty of spots on in the open world and make it nether themed. Then, add a portal on the same spot in the over-world. The portal doesn't have to be as grand as the one for the root of corruption but it should be somewhat noticeable.

    Basic features that should be included:
    • The nether should be pvp enabled, and killing other players can give you reward(e.g. xp, emeralds)
    • The mobs should be similar to the over-world mobs, but stronger, nether-themed, and more rewarding.
    • The terrain should be nether themed and harsh, with fire, lava, and soulsand which should make players to watch out for the terrain.
    Extra features that can be added:
    • To prevent high level bullies, players can't enter a nether region if their character level is exceeding the recommendation level by a certain amount.
    • Loot chests are rarer but far more rewarding to get.
    • Killing a player whose level is above you will give you more rewards and killing one with level below you will give you less rewards.
    • To prevent players to grind on an empty server, only five servers will support nether, when a player tries to enter outside the 5 server, they will be sent to one of them.
    • All portals will have a quest which must be complete before entering that region.
    • A "Masked Merchant" can be spawned occasionally and randomly. All items are purchase limited and have a huge value.
    • A potion of fire resistant can be introduced, and it can be sold by the Masked Merchant
    • A mob free safe zone (like a town) can be in the nether. If a player attacked another player in town, an invincible guard will spawn, attacking the attacker. The guard will despawn if the attacker leave the area. Attacking a player in the safe zone is only recommended when you know the player is low on health. spell do no damage in the safe zone until you attacked a player.
    • Dying in nether will not drop your item, but you will lose 4 soul points and banned from nether for 10 minutes. you can not enter the nether with less than 6 soul points
    • world bosses can be spawned in each nether regions every a few hours, players get reward based on the amount of damage they dealt to the boss
    The actual pvp place you can build a large arena or something over world themed, and can only be accessed from the hub.

    the biggest problem with the nether is that like half the items dont even work and most of if not all items have old stats lmao

    Isn't the inflation bad enough already?


    Having more portals randomly strewn across the world makes no sense whatsoever lore wise


    So instead of balancing the pvp out, you physically prevent people from getting on even if they wanted to?


    You might be overestimating the popularity of the nether, even if it's revamped. In addition to this, 5 whole servers take a lot of resources to run that wynn doesn't have


    Again, even with quests explaining the situation, it can't overlap with already existing lore, especially since high level content is located mainly in Gavel and Corkus which are corruption free. Also, making good quests takes a really long time. Making one for every single "new portal" would require a whole update worth of effort from the entire CT, and this really isn't important enough for that.

    PvP is completely broken and no longer has any place in the game. Period. It’s a shame that they never ultilized the Nether beyond PvP (especially since it’s a HUGE part of the lore and the landscape of Wynn), but it’s a lost cause at this point.

    that idea was probably the best one he gave...
    if you actually think about it this could solve the problem of just kill farming/boosting with friends and give the devs the option to make the nether actually rewarding and not just a meaningless contest .
