Player House&Guild Base

I've been seeing empty houses around the city and to be honest, I don't think they are in use.
So I thought of a system that these houses can be used for.






How Does It Work? (Player House)

Let's say you found a nice house.
And it's on sale!​

To buy this house you talk to the NPC standing by the house.​

And give it at least 64 Emerald Bolcks.​

And Kaboom! It's yours!​

But, the house will be one for one players.​

To buy a new house, you'll have to sell your old house.

How Does It Work? (Guild Base)

For the guild base, you'll have to go to Guild Hall.
You talk to the NPC there and register for a guild base.
This too, need 64 Emerald blocks.

One base for each guild.
You can change the location.


What Can You Do With It?

You can customize the interior.
For the defalt interior ther will be:
1 ender chest
1 bed

But you can buy carpets or tables to customize it.
You can play with your friends/guild members in here.​

Yes, it’s just at this point it’s getting redundant to retyping the same reasons over and over again. But just for you:

1. Overloads the server and causes extreme amounts of lag
2. Doesn’t fit theme of Wynn
3. We already have enough bank storage
4. Takes away time from actual content

2. seems like you're only talking about two specific ideas here

4. no, it BECOMES content that we work on. Content you're more used to would still be made at the same pace



so I think people just associating "housing" with a few bad ideas we've had in the past. At this point, it feels like everyone just jumping on the bandwagon

 

Let me explain better. Generating, loading, and reloading islands or plots for every single player would generate enormous amounts of lag. If you check any housing thread like this one, lag is always a central issue. Or take this thread. Yuno F Gasai pointed out that, "last time I checked wynn had 1.3 million registered players, that means 1.3 potential houses, lets say each house takes a chunk (16*16) that will be 1.3 million chunks, that's 332.8 million blocks not counting the Y axis. the current wynn map barely has 50 million blocks. this will cause severe lag." Now Corkus and the portion of Dern was not implemented yet, but the map didn't increase anywhere near 332 million blocks in area. And sure, Wynncraft doesn't have nearly as many active players as it did before, but creating and reloading offmap areas would still create lag nonetheless. Even if it created a little bit of lag, why would we need more of it?

I'm no quite sure what you mean by 2. It doesn't fit the theme of Wynncraft because you are supposed to be a roaming adventurer in a world filled with quests, not creative plots like every Minecraft server ever. Wynncraft would lose its uniqueness by becoming another build server.

I don't get what you mean by 4 either. Logically, JP or someone else would have to dedicate a long time coding the plugin, time that would have gone to doing better things like guild wars or new features. Given how it takes 8+ months for an update, I don't think the CT or JP would need extra work to do. Though since you are in the CT, is there something I'm missing?

Look, I know it may seem like people bash housing for no reason, but that isn't the case. If you've been on this forum since 9/7 (like I have), you would have seen at least 62 threads of housing. Some of them did try their best to solve its problems, but when you get housing threads like this and this, it gets harder to defend them. And this isn't cherrypicking either. Most of the housing threads I complied are like that. At this point it gets annoying because people don't bother to look at other threads and correct their mistakes, making the thread have as much quality as a shitpost.

If you're still unconvinced, just please look at the 62 other threads, particularly the earlier ones.
