World Reset Quest

basically, messing up a quest can be pretty common, and sometimes in unlucky situations, quest stages can get broken to the point where they become impossible to complete.

main suggestion: option on quest book to reset specific, uncompleted quests.

how it works: upon pressing the button and confirming the action by typing CONFIRM on a sign, every single part of the quest will get restarted. the quest will show as "not started", any quest items from that quest will be deleted, any merchant items potentially bought (hive items and stuff) will be deleted. as stated before, any and all parts of the quest are reset, preventing any sort of abuse.

why this is good: it basically solves the problem of being permanently stuck with a quest one is unable to complete.

Kind of breaks continuity of the game, as it would be kind of weird for the npc to give you the same task twice. Maybe make it so you have to go to the temple of time to reset it, or just give the player a built in time reverser harry-potter style.

 

Lemme just quickly say that it could cause WAY more problems than it fixes(which this doesn't fix a lot, and I rarely see reports of bad luck that prevents you from completing the quest).

Firstly, you have to create a system to reset a quest, and deleting the quest items from different classes could prove to be difficult. How would you do this with Hive items on another class(say, you don't need a Moon Pool Circlet but another one of your classes that doesn't have a Water Voucher does, and you transferred it)? Clearsight Spectacles? And most of the time, the feature would not be needed, as a lot of the times, quest bugs happen 100% of the time(Hidden City fix when)or can be resolved by /fixquests or backtracking(Fate of the Fallen, Poisoning the Pest, ...). For the people who actually need this command, those people are likely less than 1% of the playerbase.

 

honestly that doesnt really seem like all that difficult a task to me (im no programming expert but just erase all ur quest data?)
also, its pretty hard to lose quest items unless you do it intentionally but /fixquests exists (yea ok people were eating corrupted potatoes but still)

just have all the items that you got from the quest in ur inventory or else it wont work
