Hi i just had an idea and wasn't sure if it would work but it seems like it would make more sense than the current way, at least to me. So when you get an item as reward for a quest i was wondering if they could allready be identified. its kind of annoying to know what it is and still not be able to wear it when you finish the quest. I know its not exactly necessary but i think people would like it. Thanks in advance for any improvements you make!

That's not possible due to how ID ranges are made. Because ID ranges are made by RNG, which is decided by the servers code, not your players code.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but it wouldn’t be possible.

Why wouldn't it be possible, couldn't it still give you the item with the random id's. I'm sure it doesn't require an item identifier to generate these id's server side.

Of course it's possible, but with the way it works right now, they'd have to add all sorts of new code and whatnot and doing work is a little too much for our coffee-spilling friend.

im just curious, but do you know what they do when they add a new stat to an item? like how do they calculate the id for that stat?

that question has always bugged me

(btw not trying to come off as sarcastic im genuinely curious)

I'm not sure if this is something or i'm just over looking a large issue with the coding but wouldn't it be possible to just reuse the same identified item system that's used when claiming items through a random item bomb? Just recycle the code and tell it to give the player [insert quest item name here to be identified] and Abracadabra you got yourself a nice spiffy pre-identified item.

If not being able to id the thing isn't possible, then at least give the player the amount of emeralds at the start (lets say 240 ems) and then the rest to actually identify the thing!
In bob's lost soul, I finished the quest but i needed 2 EXTRA emerald blocks just to get the armor!

Also, you can buy pre-identified weapons under the Nesaak lake when you've finished the underice quest.
