World What Dern Should Be

Ok this is a long shot because I know Dern is almost done but I just wanted to get it out there, most of this is off of what I've been told. Me and my friend were talking about Dern and what we think its going to be. One of my friends told me Dern was were the corruption started so I thought that Dern should be one huge story quest province about a war on corruption, that is if it is where the corruption started. Another thing is that another one of my friends said that it was going to be a lvl 100 province meaning that the 100-101 lvling proses would need to be changed and that more lvls should be added. If that were so lvling should get an xp cap so that more xp wouldn't be required per lvl, either this or mobs would need to give way more xp and same with quests. I know Dern is going to be released soon so this might not be possible and that this would take a lot of work but I just wanted to get this message out there. And I will end with a life changer... OK is a tiny man sideways.

On a serious note, your friends are wrong. At least, we have no reason to think they're right. As of now the CT hasn't revealed any plans to raise the level cap in the near future. The Corruption didn't start in Dern, by the way. It was created by "light and darkness touching", and although Dern is speculated and basically-kinda-half-confirmed to be a place of darkness, Corruption originating in Dern is all but confirmed.

Anyways, you didn't even suggest anything, you just said quest and mobs should have scaling XP, which speaks for itself. They did it with Gavel so there's no reason they wouldn't do it with Dern, if they chose to raise the level cap. Oh yeah and a story line which makes no sense, the entire story of Wynn is already a war on the Corruption.

 

I have always wondered how raising the level cap would work... I mean: Would you have to gain the amount of xp currently needed to advance to lvl101, or will this amount be changed. Because if it were to be changed, all lvl101's would be pretty salty...

 

I think it would be changed, but instead of having % saved, I think they would rather save the amount of xp points collected.

besides the fact that this would be a huge waste of content, we know Dern isn't going to be a level 100 province, and the CT has said before that they probably won't increase the level cap again, at least not for a long time.
