Game Design Melee Damage Confuses People

I think your all making it more confusing by general damage because that would mean spell and melee while melee damage literally means melee damage

and if its just affecting archers (no mage would ever think that, I hope) then thats not a massive problem where the identification gets changed
so it will help some newcomer archers who are a little slow or the entire community who knows that melee damage is

 

id say basic attack is the most common / simplest term to use. could also use normal attack but eh.

only/main problem i see is it would be a 3 word identification - "13% Basic Attack Damage" cause all identifications are either 1 or 2 words.

"Attack Damage" seems like it'd make the most sense with the "Attack Speed" identification applying to melee speed

 

Omg you need to be a 12- old to not understand that melee is no spell...

 

12 year olds get so much shit, they're not that stupid. Or maybe I was really smart, but I doubt it.

 

Archer attacks are very rarely referred to as melee in games
