So we do have animals right? Pets. But they kind of do nothing really. They just follow around, and are SO cute anyway. So I was thinking, why not make pet dogs? Here's how it'll work, just so the haters will not accuse me of not doing research.

    NPC Dog Owner
In Nemract you will find the Dog NPC. You must be at least lvl. 20, and have 40 EB. You have a conversation with him, and he gives you a quest. It will be called Wolf Pack. After you complete the quest, you will be able to buy a dog and that dog will help you fight monsters. I don't know whether the dog will be immortal or not, that it up to the Devs.

    Wolf Pack
There will be a dog pack in Ancient Nemract, terrorizing the farms and trampling crops. Your job is to kill the wolves, and as proof, they drop wolf pelts that you take to the Dog Owner. The quest is also lvl. 20. Once you finish the Wolf Pack quest, you take 5 wolf pelts back to the Dog Owner, you will be able to buy a dog. To the suggestion of @FinnDestroyer here's the link to the quest itself: https://forums.wynncraft.com/threads/wolf-pack-quest.220248/

    Fighting
Relatively simple. The dog functions as a normal MC dog, so not much for the Developers to do there. It's their decision whether to make the dog mortal, or immortal. I personally vote for mortal, as an immortal dog would be kind of overpowered. The dog is like a horse. The more you use him by spawning him in fights, the more he levels up. You don't get XP subtracted from your leveling if the dog kills monsters, it'll be like Guild XP. The dog will have a separate XP drop.

    [Edit] AFK Farming
    1. @DappyKape suggested that the dog only attack if you attack with YOUR weapon. That way, a player won't be able to AFK farm with the dog defending him/her.

    [Edit] Leveling
@OGK suggested that the animal would be like a horse. You have a bone summoning tool, and you can use that to summon the dog. There will be different ranks of dogs. Here they are.

    Brown Dog-
    10% Damage Dealt By You
Grey Dog-15% Damage Dealt By You
Black Dog-20% Damage Dealt By You
White Dog-25% Damage Dealt By You
Black and White Dog-30% Damage Dealt By You

Each dog would have different Defense and Strengths stats. You can only buy the Brown Dog, but if you buy a second one, you can breed it like the horse. Put the bones into your crafting menu. Here are the percentages.
    30%-getting a better dog
    50%-getting the same dog
    20%-getting a lower dog

Obviously, if you breed two Brown dogs, you can't get a lower percentage, so if you breed 2 Brown dogs, you have 70% chance of getting the same dog.

    [Edit] Damage
To the suggestion of @Nuggets, dogs deal damage based on your damage. So basically, I suggest dogs deal your damage divided by 5. So say you dealt 50 damage, the dog would deal 10 damage. I don't know how practical this is, just comment damage ideas. And thanks to the suggestion of @FinnDestroyer, dogs would not be able to deal any more damage once the creature is at 10% health, just to prevent AFK farming.

    [Edit] Items
Suggestion by @Kraetys. You can buy a pack for your dog at 20 EB, and if you buy the pack, the dog will pick up the items for you. Useful because sometimes you leave behind emeralds, and the dog could help pick them up. This is obviously just an accessory for your dog, you don't have to buy it.

    Afterword
If you have a suggestion or solution to AFK farming, feel free to comment. I will implement this, and if the Devs. find this good enough to implement, they'll choose a solution and implement that. Thanks!

Hey this suggestion is actually pretty cool
    I genuinely like it
The only issue I see is AFK grinding but besides that yes
    please add

If you want to counter AFK grinding maybe the dog can't drop anything from mobs? Or it would just lower to a % of their health not killing them

Eh, the main problem is that if the dog attacks, it can enable AFK farming
Otherwise, if the idea was developed to a more tier based thing, it could become a great money sink...

Otherwise, why not, but AFK farming... everyone hates that and its even bannable, so yea...
Maybe try thinking of something else the wolf could do, but as of how it has been suggested, I don't think it'll be added

even if you patch up the afk farming there will be no reason to buy the dog.
why would anyone buy something that isn't useful, wynn is trying to get rid of collectables and bragging right items.

I heard in the old Wynncraft, pets could fight.
Perhaps they can restore this mechanic if they were to implement your suggestion, just the fighting pets not being a pay2win thing.

Rude comments u say? This is Minecraft in case you have forgotten, so there tend to be more youths on minecraft related servers. And y'know, they're yOuThS, so you might need to have a bit of patience. If they start cussing you in public, you probably should report them.
or maybe make it so that the dogs only attack if you attack

The support on this is great! I do see that AFK farming could be a problem, but as far as I can see, I can't really think of a solution. If you can think of one, comment it, and I will edit the article. I agree with you guys, nobody likes an AFK farmer. I was thinking maybe implementing you must deal at least 30% of the damage to get XP and drops. Like a dungeon boss really. If you guys can think of something better, go for it.

As I said before, if you have a good idea for it, PLEASE comment it. I am absolutely not an expert in this class of thing. Comment your idea if you have one @Yuno F Gasai and I'll put it in the AFK Farming section of the idea. All comment a solution to AFK farming please xD

[Edit] @DappyKape I think that is a wonderful idea. It'll be like a normal dog, only attacks if you attack. This is one idea, comment if you have another.

Just saying it once is enough...
As for what I think, I would say that you could make the quest as well too. That matters a lot.

As for the dog balancing, dogs could probably have a bone in order to summon it or not. You can upgrade the dog with something like Horse Breeding. The higher the dog, the better damage and health it'll have. The only way for it to register to attack is to have your weapon attack the mob or spell, this can prevent thorns and reflection abuse. It could also stop when the mob has registered below 30% health.

It's basically just an ally to help you fight monsters, be it a boss or just a normal mob.

I do like this idea, I'll put it in the suggestion.

Your edit still allows for AFK grinding
By letting "the dog only attack if you attack, or if something attacks you." makes it so u can jsut stand still on a really tanky warrior and as soon as u get hit the dog would attack.
To fix that you would have to damage the mob
Then there is thorns and reflection

Basically the reason we don't have these pets already is
    1) we did but then EULA
    2) afk grinding is a pain to get around

But erm Wolf Den maybe? or some other nesaak area? has Wolves so would make the most geographic sense..

    Update
Attempted to fix the AFK farming problem with the suggestion of @SaltyKing
Switched the Quest to go to the Ancient Nemract area

The issue with the Nesaak area is that it's a level 40 area, so a level 20 quest wouldn't really make sense.
