Guilds Some Improvements For Guilds

    I got some little (maybe in some parts bigger improvements) for guilds.

    At first I would like to take a look at the waring part.
    I would suggest add 2 more things to it because many of the low lvl guilds atm dont actually have an chance to grow because the territories are dominated by the Top 10.

    My first suggestion would be an max amount of territories a guild can own (like 40). It's actually sad to see that guilds like Hax (atm 103 territories) own litereally everything and small guilds maybe dont even want to try because they know they have no chance.

    My second suggestion in waring would be a longer cooldown after a territory got taken (5-10min). That would help the smaller guilds aswell to grow because it can't get taken away instant like right now.



    Another thing I want to speak about are the benefits of joining a guild.
    At the moment you dont really have a physical benefit of joining.
    I thought about adding like a guild shop where you can buy new items (new items are getting unlocked by guild level) which people can buy with coins they own by taking part in wars. That would encourage guilds to progress in level and players to join wars.
    Another think I would add are xp benefits. Maybe every 10lvl of the guild the additional xp players gain per mob increases. lvl 10 5% lvl 20 10% lvl 30 15% etc.


    I got an Idea for an sort of new guild war.
    A guild can challenge other guilds and set a wager for an amount of Emeralds. The other guild can deny or accept it and after 24h (sort of a sign in time where people can sign in for the fight) the fight between the guild members start and at a fix time after the challenge got sent players get teleported each guild fights against each other like in war servers just with players. First guild who kills 50 players wins and gets the total amount of emeralds wagered.

    Some small updates I would mention aswell:
    -Like the xp counter an emerald counter for the contribution
    -Last online time in /guild info (makes it easier than checking in stats page)
    -change /guild leaderboard to /guild leaderboard (rank) so you can see whats going on in top 10 for example

    Well, wasn't hax just a small guild at one point? You just need some determination and right now Coalition is down a lot of territories so perfect time to attack I guess?

    tbh i agree its a pretty unfair system, theres barely any skill involved and its basically a competition of who has more time/emeralds to throw into warring
    buuut ya know limiting how many territories a guild can have is also kinda unfair cuz people who do more work dont get rewarded :\

    um what? I think Hyco is frustrated about the bigger guilds wiping the smaller guilds of the map, can you explain this? >_< im saying he shouldnt give up on warring...

    Small guilds have no chance because they don't even try, and for no other reason. Hax itself used to be a small guild, and so did every top Guild in Wynn's history. The only issue in this regard is people's attitudes.
    This is just a big middle finger to guilds that spend all their time controlling territories. "What's that? You want to be able to do things as soon as possible, and work for them? Nah, you're not allowed to do that." This is just free time for guilds that don't put in the effort to defend territories.

    Both of these are not flaws with the game and have been suggested time and time again. In the sometimes-wise words of the internet, "Git Gud"
    Both of these are terrible design choices. Locking content, especially benefits, behind walls such as Guilds just means players who aren't in Guilds feel like they're being left out, and so they end up doing what they don't want to.

    Guilds exist to create communities and to provide a certain kind of content for people who want it. That's the point of Guilds, nothing else. If all you want from Guilds is benefits, you once again need to "Git gud." That ain't what Guilds have ever been about. The game's easy enough as it is, we don't need more cheap benefits.
    This idea is the best in the thread, but even it has poor execution. People will only avoid this, due to fear of losing emeralds, or bet so low that really there's no point in the betting existing anyway. An actual fight between guild members is interesting, but also would take an entire detailed thread to make it work.

    tl;dr the small improvements at the end are good, your ideas for territories are awful, and the idea of a new kind of war is interesting but poorly executed.

    I'll do this in a part-by-part response. First though I'm gonna quote one of em out of order that I see a lot of trouble for people supporting.

    Gotta take great caution with this, because then it would make guilds who have hit the cap to be way more bored and unable to keep experiencing guild wars. The limit would either have to be MUCH higher than 20, or the problem could solve itself if some of these changes like the attack delay increase came in. One of the reason the top few guilds HAVE so many territories is that other people are afraid to attack or unable to hold, which I'll get into more following. I can't say this is a great idea.

    YES!!!! I would push for an even longer cooldown, like 10-15 minutes. The current cooldown of 3 minutes that Jpresent had still doesn't give guilds (especially ones not in the top) much time to enjoy the XP and Emerald benefits before it's assaulted by someone else. This would overall encourage more guilds to want to both War AND want to spend emeralds on defenses more. It could also apply to the above point when I said "changes that could make the guild territory limit problem solve itself."

    This would be nice.... maybe? but maybe not necessarily needed because there's still the whole "fun factor" snd social factor of being in a guild. Plus if there were XP benefits as guilds level up, it would just help the most powerful guilds on the server accelerate their growth even faster, thus leaving others in the dust. Plus people who are not in guilds or don't want to be would be given a disadvantage. If some benefits WERE added, maybe Emeralds would be used isntead of a whole nother currency, giving Emeralds in the guild bank more use besides just defenses.

    This would be pretty cool, although a few things would probably be needed:
    #1: Some kind of initiation command each guildmaster would use to actually start the war, in case people are offline at the set time or occupied.
    #2: Maybe add Some kind of multiplier+averaging mechanic to the Emeralds being fought over so that if one guild wagers like, 50k emeralds, the other guild won't troll and bet 1 emerald, rigging the reward for winning in their favor.

    #1: That was already added in the last update when you do /guild list.
    #2: That would be nice yeah.
    #3: I'm uh, not sure what you mean to get out of this?

    But yeah those are my thoughts. I will heavily stand to argue the 2nd point (about the increasing territory claim cooldown) partly because it would also render the whole "bannable attacking a territory before defenses have time to be put up" rule to not exist. Because if a guild goes 15 minutes and didnt buy defenses, that's on them lol.

    So everyone who is supporting hax in here. I wanna mention the time hax started their wasnt any big guilds. I wanna mention aswell That I'm not frustrated my guild isn't that small and we progress even tho the system isn't fair. I wanna mention aswell. And yes small guilds are not trying because they know Big guilds are just snipping the territories Anyway. So yes thats the reason they dont try not because they dont have time or the emeralds. Just because they dont even have a chance. They cant put high def. They cant have as many players in to attack.

    if you mean attacking right after the 3 minute coutndown, well if you have a high value territory like ToL or lava lake ofc they would want it back lol
    otherwise they're just bored

    Well yeah I figgured it's not the best way of executing it. But just wanted to give the idea of player guild wars and stuff. I will try to make a better way to make it work and will seperatly post something about it.

    Just wanted to say that the way territories get taken atm are not fair for all. In my opinion maybe 10-15 is too long but 5-10 wouldnt hurt at all. And max 20 maybe is a bit too low like @AmbassadorArt mentioned but I dont like the idea behind that one guild owns 100+. A max gap of 50 or 60 should be enaugh aswell

    I HIGHLY disagree. Right now we're at a point where some people don't even HAVE the TIME to buy defenses for territories they claim! Jpresent had to add an entire perma-bannable rule into the server because of this! A higher cooldown isn't a big middle finger. 10-15 minutes isn't THAT long of a time, it's just enough time for XP and Emeralds to actually be gained for the territory owner. Now if the attack cooldown was like 2 hours, then It'd be "free time for guilds who dont defend territories." 15 minutes would not be problem. Also going back to when you said this...
    Yeah HAX was a small guild, back when the other most powerful guild WASNT level 80 with 100 territories. It's the newer guilds who are suffering because they are entering a situation very similar to America, where 1% of the population controls 90% of the wealth. Right now the top 5 guilds own like 90% of all territories. Most guilds are fraid to do guild wars and "try" because they know their territories could be captured instantly, sometimes before even putting up defenses, and not to mention that if that smaller guild spent an hour fending off BOB and 999 other mobs, only to lose the place in 2 minutes, then why guild war at all? Adding some kind of Attack territory cooldown would encourage competition. As things stand right now, any guild not at least level 30 or so have no benefit in attacking without some measure to give them a sense of entitlement to their earnings for even 5 minutes.

    But you are correct on one thing: The issue in this regard IS people's attitudes. But their attitudes are due to the futility of the situation in the reasons I described above.

    Clearly not enough. Plus Jpresent mentioned that "sometimes it's bugged." This happened in my guild with both City of Troms and Temple of LEgends. If Jpresent had to make a bannable offense for capturing a territory before defenses are placed, then clearly 3 minutes is either not enough time, or it's just a bullcrap rule altogether because who knows if a territory is undefended due to time or on purpose? Sometimes thought out defense-making and assessment of territory worth may take a few minutes, but it's also possible that a guild could abuse this rule to make it SEEM like an illegal capture, just to get other people banned.

    Extended the cooldown would eliminate these concerns and likely the need for Jpresent's rule altogether

    being lvl 80 just means more members (most of which do nothing) and again i wasnt around back in the day but from what i hear the situation then wasnt much different from now
    tru but
    it doesnt take an hour to kill bob, nor do people even buy bob (generally) the longest time a war can last is 15 minutes, and if you have a half respectable build you sholud be able to solo wars. also, an attack cooldown is already in place. also, if you buy 1000 mobs, it would take at least 45 seconds (to tp to war) + 30 seconds (time for mobs to start spawning) + 8 minutes (fastest possible time to kill all mobs) for a total of about 9 mintues

    unless your computer is a potato (lol) 3 minutes is way more than enough time, considering now you're teleported directly back into the world you came from and the resource pack isnt loaded again. you sholud have over 2 and a half minutes left to just right click 100 times.

    The improvements I made are not for benefiting the higher ranked guild in that point. Its just to balance it out. To give everyone a chance. And yes I created my guild not long ago aswell with a dream to compare in high lvl guildwars (what we are able to do btw). But not everyone is like.. yeah I'm attacking to just basically get nothing out of it. I made this improvements to just help the smaller guilds and to make the war System more fair overall because I know how hard it is to battle as low lvl guild.

    Well the point is that back then people started from the same page. now the server has grown so, so, so much bigger. In general you could say the same for people who just join Wynn the first time and think "no way i can catch up to the big players in level and wealth." This difference is that measures have been made allowing even low lvl people to advance faster. No such controls have existed for guilds. Also As you level your guild you get access to more kinds of mobs and even bosses so yeah levels matter.

    And 3 minutes isn't just about right clicking 100 times. did you not read the part about hmm, maybe people dont wanna summon 1000 of the same exact mobs, or wanna check with guildmates on how much to spend? Plus consider this: if a territory has zero defenses, there IS no countdown for TP'ing, the attacking guild insta-takes the territory. How else would you explain my guild taking ToL and Troms one day and losing it in hmm, less than a minute and a half? I have screenshots to show you.

    To be honest @WynnChairman you have some really respectable points you've made so far, there are just a few gaps that I feel the need to fill in. Not everything comes down to bare #'s and game mechanics, and what "is possible" and "fastest possible." A guild might not be able to afford or want 1000 mobs. Soloing wars is a WHOLE nother ballpark that somebody could make a forum thread about, so I'm not really gonna' get into that one much. XD

    EDIT: Oh and to your confusion about what I said about the rule. I say this.
    And how simply extending the cooldown could eliminate this rule altogether. Cuz if 10 or more minutes passes without defenses then it's the defending guild's fault. Plus if this rule was enforced, SO MANY players would be banned right now lol
