    the way i see it, is that earth is more rock based than life base.

    Earth + Thunder: Darkness
    Armor: Enemies that hit you have X% chance to get blindness for X seconds
    Weapon: Melee hitting mobs that are blinded will combo-hit them an extra X additional times each hit converting any earth and thunder damage into darkness damage.

    Earth + Air: Storm
    Armor: You deal an additional X% Storm damage per block traveled
    Weapon: You sprinting speed is accelerated every tick you sprint by X% for X seconds

    Thunder + Water: Light
    Armor: Increases your base health regen's speed by X per health missing
    Weapon: Teleport X blocks toward an enemy and create explosions along the way of teleportation, each dealing X damage and converting water and thunder damage into light damage.

    Water + Fire: Vapor
    Armor: Every time you are hit, you knock back every enemy in an X block radius for X blocks.
    Weapon: Move yourself and every enemy in an X block radius up X blocks and deal X vapor damage.

    Fire + Air: Steam
    Armor: Increases your life steal by X% per health missing
    Weapon: Heals you for X% of max health

    All Basic Elements: Rainbow
    Armor: Adds X skill points in each element per successful hit
    Weapon: Pierces through X% of enemy elemental defense
    (to get a rainbow powder you need to combine 4 blank powders of the same tier)

    Wood is one that I think is already perfect in name. Life seems more like a force than an element to me, and the fact that trees need both Water and dirt to even grow means it fits perfectly as an element you get by combining both water and earth. I hope you understand. (Plus, wood is an element already, just not one of the commonly known ones.)
    My thoughts are in bold inside the quote. I'm wondering if you wouldn't mind me taking the names and some of the effects and making my own versions. That would be nice, and then I could add them to the thread. I was thinking everything could be more like an entity than a material, much like what I have listed below.

    Earth + Air == Force
    Thunder + Water == Light
    Fire + Water == Vitality
    Fire + Air == Energy
    Earth + Thunder == Chaos

    Sure. What I made were just some quick concepts I've thought were interesting, some of them aren't really good though. I didn't make the names because I'm not really good at naming and already had a lot of trouble finding the appropriate elements.

    I don't think the Chaos (or your Vitality) would be hard to code since it's essentially Arrow Shield and Charge combined.

    Also, Earth and Air don't feel like "Darkness" to me, and it doesn't make sense with some of the current duo-element items, such as Horizon, Hero, Aries, Dune Storm (where I got the name from), Dondasch, etc. I chose Thunder and Earth for darkness because many Earth/Thunder items have more darker themes (Limbo, Delirium, Petrified Horror, Krolton's Cruelty, Brainwash, etc.), but I guess "Force" works too.

    meh. good overall concept, just gonna nitpick about your elements
    metal isn't necessarily and ELEMENT in China, same with wood. they are closer to deities

    and aether in greece is definitely not an element, but a primordial deity representing the pure, upper air

    How about this then?

    Earth + Air == Force (Formerly Darkness)
    Thunder + Water == Light
    Fire + Water == Vitality
    Fire + Air == Energy
    Earth + Thunder == Chaos (Formerly force, now chaos because I think ground+thunder sounds more like chaos than darkness, and they are similar.)

    This also makes Force vs Energy make more sense as well.
