Thank you so much for the explanation xD Yes Cantonese and Mandarin are similar but also very different in some ways, be it the pronounciations, the choice of words or the use of slangs and expressions. Cantonese is a very cultural language. While most Hong Kong people are able to read and write Mandarin, Cantonese is one of the languages we adore a lot and would like the language to be spread to the world, especially when the prevalence of Cantonese usage is declining.
Cantonese and Mandarin both use Chinese characters, but the combinations, the choice of words, the slangs, even the grammar are different. It's just like when English and Spanish uses Latin characters (I know, I know, their alphabet are slightly different. It's just a metaphor), they have completely different combinations and arrangements of letters and words, making the two languages very different.
Cantonese is one of the Chinese dialects that is the most different and unique from the official Mandarin language.

我們明白廣東話和普通話都是中文。正如Hero Cerebrum所講，兩者始終有不同寫法，不能排除有人看不懂簡體。
對，可能其他人已經翻譯了中文任務攻略，然而我在網上閱覽的攻略中都沒有任何對話的翻譯，即使有翻譯對話亦不齊全。加上這些攻略並不是官方的，玩家們較難接觸這些資源，在官方維基上進行翻譯則可讓更多玩家了解及使用這些翻譯，讓更多玩家受惠。其實我們亦有簡體中文的翻譯團隊，你不妨可去看看，雖然他們已經很久沒有上線了。（這也是一個我們成立這個團隊的目的之一）
其實我們之所以進行這些翻譯工作，除了是讓玩家們能在理解任務資訊時更得心應手之餘，亦希望能夠增進我們自己的英文水平，同時希望爲自己正在使用的語言出一分力，爲自己心愛的遊戲出一分力，更希望向大衆展現廣東話的文化，讓廣東話可以得以繼承，讓大家可明白廣東話的精深奧妙。
要是我們費時費力去進行翻譯工作的目的只是單單爲了「強行」分開廣東話與普通話的分別的話我認爲這也太不划算了。

There is a project going on translating Wynncraft quests on the wiki.
This is the thread for the Cantonese translation.
Cantonese is a dialect used in the Southeast China region, particularly in Hong Kong.
It is very different from the official Chinese language, with much more cultural elements while also having different pronounciations, grammar and vocabulary. While Hong Kong is technically a region located in China, the differences between Hong Kong and China, be it the policies, the society, or the values of citizens are totally different. Most Hongkongers are ashamed of the uncivilized acts of the mainlanders.
