Website & Forums Trading And Pricing

I want to start off by saying I don’t understand much of the technical side on how this is done but the website I will reference later will reveal source code via GitHub to anyone willing to give it a try.


I’ll start with something in bad taste being the comparison of wildly different games. Let’s take Warframe, anyone who has ever played it can tell you price checking is as simple as a few keystrokes in your browser. When I came to wynncraft I see price check threads and 99% of the time people telling the buyer to offer 1st seemingly because they aren’t 100% sure what the average price is, or as @Pokextreme stated buyers possibly doing it on purpose to swindle buyers who might not know the price. There are those seasoned vets who can tell you but those of us newer or even experienced won't be able to tell you and risk getting ripped off. This is very disorganized and almost stone age way of trading.




My suggestion for how this could be accomplished is by

1. Someone with skill in the area of bots to set up a bot like this to see keywords and confirm what price was set in that sale. Make a PSA announcing what words will help build a database of prices allowing an accurate price for every item.
   
   
2. Making a specific sub thread in trading for prices people bought or sold a certain item for. Possibly requiring proof of transaction to avoid some price fixing.

If I need to go more in depth let me know, but I believe it’s pretty straight forward. Im very grateful for what we have but this could be a pillar in new comers not being as intimidated in the forums. I will also leave a link here to show what I am talking about when I say a bot to upload to a database. Obviously the server doesn't need anything this clean but a simple search item and avg price output for the Wynn team to look into would be amazing <3

 

Most people put offer not because they don't know the worth, but because ocasionally the buyer will over-offer, and they can make a huge profit, which is an issue in itself
