Too Many Players For Loot Chests? How To Fix The Market?

    I spend most of my time grinding loot runs in the Rodoroc area (Before you blast me, I haven't gotten a single mythic and I am very poor even with 7k chests), which was hard enough when they turned half of the t3's into 1's or 2's, but now my loot run has a ridiculously small success rate because there are so many other people doing the same run. I often see other people leaving a chest on my run as I'm doing the loot run, or camping at one of the t4's, and WC's where the area has been un-looted for 1 hour+ (long enough, to have loot good enough, making it worth your time) are basically nonexistent. Basically, there are aren't enough loot chests to support a steady 1000+ players. I don't know what could be done about this, but some solutions are shown below.

    The underlying problem is, of course, that loot-running is currently the only viable way in the endgame to make much money at all, and find good items. Grinding is very slow, and has low returns, dungeons are useless except for exp, horse-breeding is the best way to lose all of your money really quick, literally nobody buys under-godly level legendaries anymore, etc.

    The market is so incredibly oversaturated, that legendaries must be truly exceptional to even be considered by a purchaser, and even then only a low price is offered. In the old days, legendaries were actually semi rare, and commanded high prices even with just decent stats. To fix this, Wynn must remove loot chests, so that legendaries are rare and will hold real value in the market. (#7 in Suggestions)

    Suggestions:

    1. Set full-server cap on Wynn, at 500 or so. (Pls no)
    2. Double the amount of worlds up at a time. (Not monetarily feasible for Wynn)
    3. Make chests regenerate loot faster. (Could work, to balance with the influx of players, but be careful)
    4. Add more loot chests in other areas to encourage a variety of comparable loot runs. (Areas such as Canyon of the Lost, Eltom, Kandon-Beda, Jofash Dock, and Upper Molten Heights, could all use a huge boost in loot chests so that the level 100 loot-running players would have many areas to choose from that all had near-max to max level loot, a decent idea if you ask me)
    5. Increase drop rates from mobs, so that grinding is as/more profitable as chest-running. (I see no flaws with this one, except a possible influx of items in the market.. But who cares lmao the Wynn market is already as broken and oversaturated as possible)
    6. Preferably with an increase in base drop rate, also make all items that are currently mob/chest exclusive available from both. Exceptions would be special items, like Mythic armor being chest exclusive.
    7. Cut down heavily on the amount of loot chests in the world, making for a scarcity of rare items and a healthy change in the market. This would bring loot-runs down to the level of grinding, and allow for people to make lots of money by selling the new legendaries they get, fixing two problems at once.

    If you have another/better idea, feel free to let me know in the comments and I'll add it to the thread.

    Again, I am not specifically endorsing those ideas, because they all have problems.

    I'll check out the Ahmsord one because that's the only other level 90+ area, but realistically I can't see anyone but warriors loot-running the Sky Islands anyways.

    Mehw, been doing Corkus for a while myself, and it really pays off. Pretty much 10+ legendaries each run, and even found a Mythic recently ;D
    (given, I do have 200% loot bonus :p)

    I cleaned up your thread, there were some mean and unnecessary comments. I deleted every trace so some comments which werent hostile are also gone.

    No, the issue isn't the quantity/quality of chests, it's the fact there is no other viable (read: profitable and worth wile) method of obtaining currency and valuable gear.
    Grinding is tedious and not worth it, there is no end-game content and dungeons don't provide real substitutes for mythics. MMORPG is heading towards the wrong way, where luck and abusing is being rewarded at much higher rate than skill and dedication. I seriously hope they address that.

    Please, I’d take fixing end game and this shit over getting Dern... sure Dern will be great but well all finish it fast and then be stuck with this shit endgame again...

    By end game I mean fixing the shit you can do after all the content so grinding items, dungeons, etc.

    Solution 1: Terrible idea. That is a fast way to lose players
    Idea 2: Would cost twice as much money to run
    Solution 3: Easy way to inflame the market more
    Idea 4: Holy snap you have an actually good idea! You should erase this entire section and just ask them to add more chests to Canyon of the Lost.

    This is a good thread, and I was thinking the same thing. It's very rare that I go to a server that has chests worth lootrunning. It's a shame that grinding doesn't give you enough items to be a good alternative.

    They shouldn't add more chests. Having some areas more profitable than others thus being most likely to get loot run-ed more is the way to go. Besides that, if loot was doubled and everyone had a viable loot source inflation would happen and mythics wouldn't be as rare as their suppose to.

    Though I agree Wynn should maybe have double the servers open. Personally I found that the worst time to loot run is in the morning CET time as about 400 people are on and only 7 servers.

    I can also say skill should be rewarded more than luck but that's optional on each mmorpg server.

    End-game is content-less. True.
    I would advise them making a update similar to 1.17 as soon as possible that gives almost unlimited ways to distract an end gamer for boredom.
    I actually have quite the idea on how to do that to.
    Sincerely I hope road to dern update won't take another 8 months to come since end game needs a quick update.

    - add something to rodoroc and molten heights related quests/discoveries/secret dungeon
    - add a viable option for an end-gamer to explore the canyon of the lost more frequently
    - add another Legendary island type dungeon somewhere in rodoroc/ocean/ Kandon Beda
    -add obtainable legendary/mythic equipment limited to completion/discovery/farming of some sort
    - add more use to the realm of light dimension for end-game
    - add another reason for end-gamer to explore the ocean

    And for road of dern..
    - dern area
    - expanded molten heights
    - expanded Troms jungle
    - more quests
    - ahmsord is now more viable (something)
    - bring back armour skins, add transmog
    - add the ability to obtain armour/weapon skins through gameplay content
    - add more options to modify your gear (like powders but different)
    - add many more mobs/mini bosses that can spawn and have a better chance to drop a certain item
    - add more items in general
    - more mythics, new item stats
    - add global city invasions that have a chance to spawn

    And finally..the crazy near impossible idea
    - modify the guild-world to be a open duplicate of our world with more war options/player made invasions/nether type pvp

    So not really..
    + They are most likely to all be loot run-ed at least once at any given server by people who do regular loot runs.

    I don't see any problem with loot chests regenerating loot faster. If servers now hold 25% more players, why don't let chests regenerate 25% faster? It would be the same amount of loot for every player as before.
