    Quest name: The Tinkerers Construct

    Npc name: the tinkerer

    Level:15

    Location:detlas tinker tent

    Difficulty:medium

    Rewards:

    1600 exp

    29 emeralds

    Access to the tinkerer

    Talk to the tinkerer

    Dialog:

Tinkerer: you must be here for the powerful weapon and armor modifications I give out.

Tinkerer: sadly I don’t have all the parts I need to begin.

Tinkerer: please bring me [5 iron ingots] [2 silver ingots] and [7 oak logs] for raw materials.

The iron ingots can be dropped by zombie miners.

Silver ingots drop from skeleton miners.

The oak spawns randomly in nivana forest

Tinkerer: good work the materials seam high enough quality.

Tinkerer: however I also need something else.

Tinkerer: I need [3 steel ingots]

Tinkerer:if you go down the black road the blacksmith will give you some.

Tinkerer: thank you very much for the help I will now modify the tools and armor you have.

    How tinkering works

When you right click the tinkerer after the quest you open a menu. On one side there is a emerald called “shop” on the other is crafting table called “tinkering” the shop sells the items needed to modify weapons or armor. The tinkering side allows you to add modifications to items. An item starts with modification slots based on rarity:

    Depressing: 0 slots

    Common: 1 slot

    Unique: 2 slots

    Rare: 3 slots

    And so on

In addition you can buy more slots for the item using the equation to see the cost

((Number of slots)x(last cost or 1 if none))+((min level)x((number of powders)+(number of modifiers))=cost in emeralds

    Mods:

    Quartz +5% max Damage (32 e)

    Iron +5% min damage

Steel: +5% min and max damage

    Lapis: +1% crit chance (1eb)

    Redstone: +10% attack speed

    Diamond: +3% looting (2eb)

    Gunpowder: +2% exploding (2eb)

    Wood: +5% max hp

    Pink wool: -100% damage

if pink wool is truly -100% damage, then why would you ever use it. and if it is +100% damage, it is overpowered.

I think he did that for the meme. Who knows, maybe a -100% damage weapon could become a collectible? People are weird, that might happen.

    Oh cool.
Is this NPC a machine? Normally NPCs have names... especially ones that involve with Quests.
    -Nice level...
-Where exactly is this location? Cords please?
    Reasonable difficulty
    -Nice EXP?
-Why such an odd amount of Emeralds?
    This seems rushed...
Most people assume so you can get a pass on this as most of Wynn seems to be unconcerned that you barge into their houses.
Then how are you in business? Don't you have someone to usually bring them to you?
Why do we have to do this? It just seems out of the blue... plus he suddenly trusts us? What?
    -Cords?
    -Stats for the mobs?
Eh... same can be said with The Ultimate Weapon quest...
Why wasn't this said before? Did he forget?
Where is the blacksmith's cords? Is there dialog between you and him? Trading? What do you need? More details are needed here...
    This was sudden... very sudden...
Seems simple enough... I kinda like this.
And so on? How are the rarities measured?
This equation isn't really needed... and if a weapon starts with no slots and you want to buy one... then half of this equation is down the drain. Same with the number of modifiers. Or does that mean reroll? Also does this mean you can have potentially infinite slots?
Small price to pay... but we really don't need this...
What if the minimum is the same as the maximum? What happens then?
At this point buy steel not Iron or Quartz... Also where did he even have the Quartz?
This makes no sense and where did he get the Lapis?
Does this mean 1 Attack Tier? This is just going to get broken if so... Again where did he get this?
Seems... fair enough I guess...? Also where the heck did he get Diamonds?
...I have nothing to say besides this makes sense... also where the heck did he get this?
What does this mean? 5% off your max? +5 HP?
...Okay what? Plus... where did he get this?

    Suggestion Idea: 57% F
    General Suggestion: 23% F

    Overview:
This adds a new system which is kinda needed. However the Quest you need to do in order to receive this is incredibly flawed as there is little to no detail that is given. The Items needs some re-balancing and you need to sort out the Equation again as it can be broken a few times. As well as putting limits too, you can have Stinger have the potential to not have as much Attack Speed down... I like this new system, it just needs some work into it... besides that...

    Have a Good Day!

Yeah, its not great. If you want an example of a good quest suggestion, go look at one like 'Hook, Line, and Sinker'. It's not an implemented one, but is the only high-effort one I can remeber seeing. You need colour, descriptions of places, at least a vague idea of where npcs are if not coords, and at least some reasoning behind the dialogue and events of the quest. While the mechanic you get access to as a reward is interesting, you've not introduced it very well, and it's not very well thought out.

Right. This is a blatant copy of a mod called Tinker's Construct (with only the slightest change in name), but I'll critique it nonetheless.
This is very early to be introducing these kinds of mechanics. People won't have got used to basic powders yet and we have this. I'd recommend putting it at at least level 50 or 60. Wynncraft's game design slowly introduces players to the system, adding more complexity later on, and this would break that.
It is not possible at the moment for the same NPC to act as a dialogue/quest NPC and also a merchant. This could be solved by having the quest be given by the Tinkerer's assistant (who is outside the tent), who only lets you into the room with the Tinkerer once you've completed the quest.
So where do set items fall in this, given that there's only one set tier weapon?
Anyway, this would give Mythics 5/6 slots (depending on what is done with the Pigman hammer), which means that with the Steel upgrade on all slots, all Mythics can have 25/30% more damage. This is a huge difference and is very overpowered. To solve this I could see these upgrades taking up powder slots, as an alternative to elemental powders. This would have less of an effect on endgame balance.
Neither of these items are well-established in Wynncraft lore, and there are no references to redstone even being a thing in this universe outside of some crate items. We have no idea what powers they might have. All you're doing here is copying bonuses from the mod.
Could also have OP effects if stacked on endgame tank builds with mythics.

Here's a suggestion - perhaps this could be added for accessories instead of weapons, as there's currently no way to modify them?

You don’t understand 2 things. One: there is a mod called tinkerers construct that mostly explains the modifiers. 2: the zombie and skeleton miners are all read mobs. The can be found in the mine on the road that goes from nivana forest to detlas and the black Smith is already a npc

I think you haven't read what WynnCraft is yet... it's a server... that does not use mods... as well as being specific of where these mobs are, the NPCs usually tell you. If not, they write it in your book. Don't assume the player knows where they are.

I know it does not use mods. I make modpacks so I know what does or does not use mods. You seam not to farmal with the mod tinkers construct. This is not how it works. This was INSPIRED by tinkerers construct. It is not a copy in any way. This system would be way to simple for the mod. But it would work well in Wynncraft

In either way, I do like on the way how this can work, but there is many problems trying to implement it the way it currently is. But if the modifiers are not the same yet you earlier said:
    Which one should I follow?
