Just going to say this now, I'm a noob. Like I have played Wynncraft for a long time and I've had some high level classes, but I'm a noob at heart. Whatever I post here is just what I've heard from other people and my thoughts. I don't actually understand the science of economics (it's some complicated shit though), but yeah. Here's my understanding and ideas.

So, as many know, the Wynncraft economy has a lot of problems with emerald inflation, just like other MMORPGs. If you don't know what inflation is, it's basically when a currency (emeralds) is worth less because there's so much of it. An example of this is that a white horse nowadays can cost upwards to 100 LE (about, it ranges), while it used to cost much, much less. The actual value of the horse has not changed, but the amount of emeralds has, so the price has to increase without changing the value. What this does is makes it so that as you gain lots of emeralds over time, as there's a constant source of them, the price of items gets so high (this is mainly for vets) because people have been around so long and have SOOO many emeralds. This makes it very difficult for semi-newer players to buy items because the prices are much much higher than they should be. It also results in players being able to easily buy items (the limited ones there are on Wynn) from merchants easily, as they have a lot more emeralds and the NPC prices never change. Overall, inflation is just a big problem.

One way to help control inflation, or even fix if properly implemented is to decrease the amount of emeralds circulating in the economy, specifically regarding players who have waaaaayyy to many emeralds. This can be done by adding money sinks into the game, which use the game mechanics to remove emeralds from the economy. So, moving on to my actual ideas, here's some things I thought of that could help remove emeralds from the economy, specifically for rich players. Note that some of these ideas MAY NOT SEEM FAVORABLE, but overall they can help the economy.

    Idea #1
Consumables should be added to the game for players to buy and then use up. The currency would effectively be removed from the game and the player would have a fun time using them. Some ideas are:
(They're bad, but hey! That's me!)
Quickstim - Makes your stamina bar last much longer for a certain amount of time
Jumping Juice - Allows you to jump higher for a certain amount of time!
Invisibility Slime - Allows you to move unseen by mobs, but if you walk within 10 blocks of them they can see you. If you damage them they can see you. EXPENSIVE!
Berserker's Blood - The lower your health is, the more damage you'll do (based on % of total health?)
Brew of the Sea - Allows you to see better, breath, and swim faster under water
Death's Grasp - Makes you take slightly less damage from undead mobs for a time
Potion of Sight - Allows you to see in dark places

    Idea #2
    Effectiveness: Major
Make it so when you die, 1 item, either your helmet, chestplate, leggings, boots, or weapons becomes COMPLETELY broken (only the weapons and armor you have equipped). An item breaks every time you die no matter what. When it's broken you cannot use it, and it will not add effects or whatnot. In order to repair your armor you must visit a blacksmith in a town (new NPC to be located in towns to give them some life! Maybe near weapon merchants). You have to pay him to repair it. The higher the rarity of the item the more it would cost to repair. Mythics would cost a very high amount to repair, while uniques and rares, and even some legends wouldn't. Helps target more rich players. The level of the item is also taken into consideration.

Anyways, that's basically what I've got now. Sorry if this thread is poorly formatted and hard to read, I really just wanted to throw these ideas together and get some feedback! Tell me what you think in the poles, and have a lovely day!

    Removed These Ideas
    Money Sink #1
    Effectiveness: minor
Pretty simple one, but make it so to ride the airship between Cinfras and Detlas, you have to pay the guy who takes you there. If there could be a way to make it so that the more you use the ship the more the cost is. This will help drain currency from players who are going between these areas a ton (loot runs, trade, etc.). Shouldn't be too hard to implement and could help, although minor.

    Money Sink #2
    Effectiveness: minor-medium
Pirate raids! Make it so when you ride the S.S Seaskipper there's a chance you can be invaded by pirates. They will take money from you, based on the amount you have on you. If you have a lot of emeralds on you (say you had like 2 stacks of LE on you, they might take 32 LE, where as if you had like 1 LE, they might take all of it). Your level should also play into it, as lower levels should have significantly less money taken from them. The longer you go without being raided by pirates should also make it so the amount they take from you is more. If I have 1 stack of LE on me, but was attacked 1 week ago in-game I might lose 10 LE, but if I have never been attacked in the 5 months I've played Wynncraft, I might lose all of it. Pirates will also be able to take items from you. If they take an item from you, you can go to pirate cove to buy it back from them. The more rare the item is (mythic items especially) the more it could cost. Couldn't say how much it should cost to buy mythic items back, but it should be a big amount (less than their actual value of course)
    Money Sink #5
    Effectiveness: Medium-Major
Create an elite trainer for level 100 players. This one idea could have an entire thread of its own, but I'm going to try and summarize it here. The trainer makes it so you can buy PERMANENT PERKS with emeralds and EXP. The price of these perks is exponential and you can buy unlimited amount of perks. What perks could be, I'm not sure, but I think it should be PRETTY DAMN WORTH IT CAUSE IT WOULD GET REALLY EXPENSIVE. Either way, the idea is that you can buy multiple perks for both EXPERIENCE AND EMERALDS (holy caps). As you get more and more perks the experience and emerald cost gets bigger and bigger. The player can keep getting more and more perks (until, I suppose, it gets so unreasonable they cant fund it, or the exp sets them so far back they hit level 1 each time, or just have it cap at removing all your levels). Basically this helps keep things interesting by decreasing the level of the player, making them want to try and get back to level 100, and also taking a butt load of emeralds from the rich players. If anyone wants to expand on this idea in a new thread, PM me and we could work together on that idea, if people like this.

Will be separating these into two separate threads and adding detail as well as deleting this thread

Pirate raids is my one big no here. Random element getting rid of something you worked for is stupid. Other than that, items breaking could create Skill Point issues(? They might have fixed that actually idk). I don't think adding a fee for Cinfras-Detlas fast travel is necessary, but it wouldn't hurt much, I guess.

Now, more consumables is a good idea. Whether it's more kinds of potions, small cosmetics (ones that wont overshadow crate cosmetics), or entirely new consumables (very expensive consumable that gives you +1 SP, for example), this could actually be a bigger money sink than it seems, much like how microtransactions in mobile games add up to more than they seem to. This part requires more detail, though, and could take some extra balancing.

Perks is an alright idea, but balancing them to be worth the price while not being overpowered would be tough. Plus, taking away xp would be a serious deterrent for many people. It would have to start at pretty low amounts of XP for common players to be all for them. This part also needs more detail.

All together, this suggestion is more half-baked than anything. Some good ideas, some unnecessary ideas, but all without much detail. My advice would be to improve perks and consumables, remove pirate raids, and add some extra information to the other solutions where possible.

I don't like suggestion #1 simply because of the fact that it walls off content with a paywall for something that used to be free.

Items taken from pirates can be bought back. It's basically the same as the items breaking on death, just a different scenario. As for the skill point problems, selvut fixed it I believe. It would remain equipped, it just wouldnt give effects. As for EXP removal, I'll just change it so it's a possibility ;). I will work on adding more detail, probably in separate threads.
I'm not sure how much you were thinking price would cost, but for average travel cost it'd be like 1 EB or less, unless you use it a TON

um for one, ive never heard of a max white horse for more than 90, and i hear people say its not even that much :/
also horse prices shouldnt be affected by inflation because a brown horse is 24eb, and the other prices are determined by the probablity of getting them and like the amount of money it takes to do so.

actually now i think of it, i dont think giving like damage/defense buffs is a rly good idea, but mobility and such could be great
like u can sprint longer, or ur sprint bar recharges faster, or like you said, water breathing, jump boost, speed maybe,
    overall good idea imo xd

now idk about this too much :/
it would have the intended purpose of sinking money, but it'll still give the super rich players an (technically unfair) advantage over others
i mean its not really pay to win, but its pretty much pay to win :I
and anyway once all the money is gone, no one'll have enough money to buy the perks anymore and the people who did will (again) have advantages over others :\
