Quest NPCs, Item Buyers, Identifiers and Powder Masters can do it, I don't see why can't they made it to regular merchants too.

Ik it would be fine if they actually told me why-

 

I support, but I'm willing to bet there's a legit coding reason or something for why it hasn't been done yet

Identifiers and powder masters do the same thing, but ehh what do I know about coding, the only coding i've done was on scratch for stem ;-;

 

If I remember correctly, the powder masters and identifiers have a different format than the shops (hence their special GUI) and use a different plugin or something. The current shop plugin doesn't allow for it like the IDers and Powder Dudes do.

But, with the new Code Revamp that's currently being worked on, it might be possible in the future
