World [economy] Mythics; More Than A Rarity

    Our economy is fucked, no other way to say it. And while taxation was HEAVILY dropped and hated for stealing a large amount of money without compensation. And even then the emerald is only part of the problem, mythics' rarity and how powerful they are has given those who find a mythic many stacks of LE richer. And those who have the stacks of LE for buying mythics they can use for solo builds and then get richer. Plus there is the recency of Shadow Amadel grinding which caused many mythics to be spawned and generated due to an error/bug in the code that was not intended.

    Therefore, mythics are an issue. So i have the idea, making them regulated and limited, more special than they are already, yet fair for players.

    The Events:

    So the basic idea goes off of the "Events" in which an announcement off the forums, twitter, or discord there will be a 2-3 day time frame for obtaining a 2-3 party of mythics. These are activated by the owners/admins/content team/whomever and allow the ability for certain mythics to be obtainable. The message will be either of the following:

    "Events for Mythical weapons are being open! The clue we have for this 3-day opening is [Element/Play style/Locations/Weapon/Armor/accessory]"

    "Events for Mythical weapons are being open! This 3-day opening we'll have [Mythics named, 3-5 per 3 day cycle]"

    Every 3 day set in a month (off set after a 31 day month and February) there is a set planned amount of mythics, left ambiguous and is to be solved by the community, and this is guaranteed and does not end/stop.

    IE if the 10-12 of Sept. you could get cataclysm, October 10-12 would also have it, but in Nov. it would be 9-11 because of october 31st.

    How you get them is based off the lore on the item, some require a boss fight fought with 5+ other players, some require a puzzle done alone, others are more obscure and unique in collection. Note you won't be guaranteed a mythic, and your first attempt has a higher chance at a drop than your second during the same event. However these are reset whenever that same mythic is available.

    So if over the 3 days, one could be attempting spring and doesn't get it after the first boss defeat, there is a lower chance on the second attempt. However if spring is available again in 2 months let's say, this resets.

    Your chance at a mythic are corresponding by either Damage dealt to the boss (of course with stipulations and an algorithm), speed at completing the puzzle, or by other means. If you don't get a mythic on your first run, based on how much you did compared to the winners of a mythics determines how heavy/light the reduction is for your seceding attempt.

    These are 100% regulated by the Owners, Admins, and/or Content team. And eventually these events are rarer and rarer. This way there isn't a unlimited amount (technically there is, just the amount in circulation is adjusted given the active user count) of mythics in the system, and are better come by.

    Examples:
    • Pure would be obtained doing something at any/all of the 4 white meteors, it can be a puzzle being it is carved from the rock. Also the chance drop for the second go around during the same timeframe could be less if it's a easy puzzle.
    • Nirvana would require the player meditating with monks at the Banistu Temple, requiring the player to be the most peaceful out of a group of meditators.
    • Monster would involve fighting a boss consumed by the horrid transformation the wand brings to it's holders
    Other Notes:

    I also best recommend that mythics here on out are Untradable, removing a strain on our economy and giving mythics to whoever can reach them, over the 7/1000000 chance at a drop or find in a chest.

    Mythic could also be a new type, like Quest or untradable, where selling to then item buyer would have a line for confirming if you want to sell the mythic to them, are untradable to other players, and are tracked in who has one, where, and when it's sold/despawned/hopper ate it/other, and cannot be picked up by other players.

    This is in a very rough stage, refined in a few spots, so any suggestions or altercations would be credited and appreciated. Most was written before the Amadel Ban.

    Mythics are supposed to be rare, also event ideas like this were suggested and shut down by the economy

    This was an idea already to an extent? Got any links to them, i'd like to see the arguments agianst this system.

    And who's to say that this has to always be as such? Is it beyond capability to have Mythics or some new tier of item be like this? Heck, Necklace of a thousand storms is obtained in the from of some corkus-wide puzzle, which could be a way to obtain some mythics if this were implemented.

    New concept for a schedule added! Need opinions on thoughts, note this hypothetical schedule would shift and change slightly when new mythics are released.

    It's not bad, but it would work better if it was just a few new mythics/other good legendaries which followed the system.

    In hind sight some mythics like Spring and a few others would be better off like our current system given the lore on them, i have to reread and get all the lore to some of the items.

    And even if that were the case i'd vote saying certain areas and mobs have the mythic in their drop pool and it's raised over 7/1000000 if it were in the 3-day opening system.

    However if this is appied with our 7/1000000 drop chance that would be wildly unfair given how powerful these items are for who can't get them and who gets plenty they can't use do to the playstyle they are based in.

    I just found it, first page filled with a lot of "Meant to be rares"

    I did antisipate for these kind of commons, hence the timed event thing came up as an idea to still have them be rare yet not to such a lottery like state it is now.
