Make Amadel Farming Bannable

What's Amadel farming, and why is it such a big thing?
If you somehow don't know what Amadel farming is by now, it's the practice of standing in Shadow Amadel's room with an AFK build, and farming a shit-ton of loot from the shadow clones.

This works on two levels. First off, the build itself is a Warrior build which stacks onto Warrior's 20 base defense. Warrior defense shouldn't stack; this is a bug. The build must have at least 147 defense total (including the defense stack bug) so the clones deal no damage, and the build needs thorns and poison, so that thorns can trigger poison on the clones, killing them instantly. Second, the loot multiplier code is completely broken. Shadow Amadel's clones should have a loot multiplier of 0, which means they shouldn't drop anything at all; however, due to the broken code, the clones can drop just as much loot as anything else.

This means that Amadel farming abuses not one, but two bugs: Warrior defense stacking, and broken loot code. Given that the clones' spawnrate is quite high, this method of farming can give players extremely valuable items in relatively little time. For example, you may have heard the story of a player finding two mythics in two days via Amadel farming while expending absolutely zero effort to get them.

Oh yeah, and before you call me a hypocrite for finding a Stratiformis in an item bomb (which is getting lots of money with zero effort), the difference is that item bombs are pure luck you have no control over, while Amadel farming is deliberate bug abuse for personal gain.

Wait, wouldn't this wreck the economy?
Yes.
In fact, this effortless get-rich-quick method has already resulted in many valuable items significantly dropping in price; bad Nirvanas have gone from 9 stacks to 6, and good Gaias have gone from 10 stacks to 9. These are just two examples of the economy getting fucked by this farming method; there's no telling how much damage has been done in total, but it's said that a lot of valuable 96-100 items have dropped in price due to this.

So, why isn't it fixed yet?
It's not fixed yet because fixes can't be pushed until updates can be pushed, and updates take a long time to release. Also, part of the problem with this relates to Wynn's code, so there's no telling how long it'll be before this gets fixed.

However, another day this abusive farming method goes unfixed is another day that things get worse.
This bug abuse has gotten out of control, to the point where it makes CT members like @Selvut283 seriously question doing the GM work they love doing due to how willing it seems the players are to get good items by any means necessary:

It is terrible. This farming method abuses two bugs, wrecks the economy, and shows that people care more about getting good stuff by any means necessary than enjoying the game itself. Sure, it could be argued that getting good stuff is enjoying the game, but is bug abuse really the way to go about that?

As a matter of fact, AFK farming used to be a bannable offense, with people getting banned for it all the time, but for some reason the mod team voted against outright banning people for Amadel farming; rather, they suggested things like changing the fight until the bug could be fixed, or changing the level of the mobs so nothing useful could drop:

Due to reasons previously stated (see "So, why isn't it fixed yet?"), this isn't a great solution.

Amadel farming also breaks rule 3, the rule against abusing bugs, glitches, and exploits. Here's a question for you: this farming method abuses not one, but two bugs; why has it gone unpunished for so long?

Conclusion/TL;DR
In conclusion, Amadel farming is a farming method that abuses a broken loot multiplier code bug and a bug involving Warrior defense stacking to get lots of loot from the clones in Shadow Amadel's chamber. It has led to players getting lots of money in not a lot of time. It's significantly impacted the economy (as if the economy wasn't fucked enough). It's pissed off a significant portion of the community, and the worst part is, it's unlikely it'll be fixed for a good long while, due to how long fixes take to be pushed.

But nothing's been done about it.

Why?
Why let blatant rule 3 violations go unpunished for so long?
Why decide to do nothing until the underlying code problem gets fixed?
Why let the economy continue on its downward spiral?
Why continue to piss people off by letting this slide?

Why not ban people for this shit already?​

I have amadel grinded before only a few times and i disliked it, I think you should have to work for your money, and that's from someone who's very poor considering this economy

But yeah, shit like this and other heavy uses of exploits in the past (AFK Grinding with lifesteal and thorns/reflection) should've been a bannable offense a long time ago. Rule 3 does it's job well when it comes to stuff like "don't go out of the map", duping, etc. But the act of purposely utilizing exploitable builds with glitches for certain actions like AFK grinding should really be included on what not to do when it comes to Rule 3.

 

seems like it'd be pretty easy to tell the difference between a player simply defeating shadow amadel and a player AFK farming
for starters, one would be moving and one wouldn't be

Honestly, I don't see why people do abuse bugs and glitches to get the best stuff in the game. It just sucks the fun out of it. Sure, if Wynncraft was a game styled like Just Cause 3 or GTA 5 where it's actually fun to be a god flying around the map blowing stuff up, it wouldn't be so bad. Wynncraft is a game about progression though, and setting goals. If you can just get everything you want whenever you want it without any struggles or work, then what value does it have?
