    Problem:
    I have noticed that when you put a powder on a weapon, you could deal more DPS on a faster attacking weapon than on a slower attacking weapon. For example, you have 2 bows, one very slow, and the other very fast, (attack speed wise). You could put an 11-15 damage powder on the very slow bow, and it gives you 11-15 more damage on each hit, which is 0.7 times each second. Or you could use the same powder on a very fast bow and get 11-15 more damage on each hit which is 3.3 times a second. Obvoisly you would put the powder on the fast bow, because the powder would deal out more DPS. (0.7 times a second vs. 3.3 times a second). Do the math.

    Solution:
    Thus, I think that the powder system, while it is a great addition to the game, should be reworked slightly. Insted of having a set damage range when added to a weapon, There should be a quick calculation of how much DPS should be added. So adding a powder will always give the same amount of DPS when added to weapons.

    Summary:
    If you don't understand it by now here is a quick summmary:
    *Adding a powder to a slow attacking weapon should get more of a damage upgrade than adding a powder to a fast attacking weapon. So that powders will add a set amount of DPS, and not a set amount of damage.

    P.S. This is my first post/suggestion, it may not be written well.

    however, fast bows usually have less base damage than their slow counterparts. Powders do also convert existing neutral damage into elemental damage.

    He's talking about overall change in DPS, not the resulting DPS. His point is that powders are more effective on some weapons than others.

    and that's because that weapon has more neutral damage?
    weapons with only elemental damage won't get much of a boost

    Isn't it supposed to be this way? Using your example, you could fire more shots with the faster bow, meaning you could deal more damage quicker, making the very fast attack speed deal more damage per second than a very slow attack speed bow?

    No. Faster weapons deal less damage. Let me show an example (not actual things)
    In 1 secends one weapon can attack there times but another only one time.
    The weapon that attacks 3 times does 5 damage each time and the one with 1 attack per secend does 15.

    3x5=15
    1x15=15

    However, a powder adds say 2 damage for each attack.
    1x17=17
    3x7=21

    The weapons are no longer equal

    the lower dps i think is made up for on fixed attack powder specials like quake and chain lightning as they do more damage.
    i do agree that logically this is an issue but not really a priority to fix. id recommend making a new thread with much more detail

    I think this gets compromised by the fact that quake and chain lightning are much better on slower weapons because they don't factor in the attack speed. As for the other bonuses it doesn't really matter as they're mostly used for spells afaik. In my opinion, fast weapons deserve any edge they can get because with current game mechanics (broken elem def mostly), they are at a disadvantage.

    Thats will be fair only after they fix the attack speed and elemental defense thingy at least give fast wepons that advantage
    Edit also slower wepons get a big burst at the start so that balance himself kinda

    its not a powder issue, powders were (I think) intentionally designed to be this way. Its a tradeoff for the lower tier weapons being able to be +tiered for insane melee instead of spell power.
