    For some reason my friend can't start B. He doesn't have the A shard and /fixquests doesn't work either. Also the starter npc of B does like he already did the quest (yes I looked in his quest book). He can't go into the water hole either because of this so it's really annoying.

    I tried that with him but it doesn't work. I think it's because the one you can get is untraceable and the one from the quest is a quest item.

    No (untradable/quest item), but both can be used to start the next quest
