There should be a new PvP system, a system made for more casual players. What if you copy or expand upon in-game map landmarks and made it a cool PvP environment, keeping the feel and looks of the landmark in effect. All the crazy imperfections, weird structure and such. This way, more casual players who aren't into the competitive nature of the Nether can battle against other like-minded players in areas they're familiar with? There can be many large servers of these maps or you could even invite friends and open a custom server for you and your friends to have fun on. Landmarks like Gundalf's Tower, Dernel Mansion, the Golem Factory, and even cities like Llevigar that are huge enough for players to goof around, hide and sneak up on your friends. Maro Peaks with all it's branching paths so that players can get up close and personal, hitting each other to knock each other off into the water. Or even archers trying to snipe each other from the giant rock across from the one you're on. With this PvP system you can come up with whatever fun game you wanna play with your fellow fighters in fun environments they're used to. I love the idea of playing with my friends in the Almuj bank labyrinth as an Assassin, using Vanish to sneak around the path they're on and attack them from behind, startling them. I dream of having a massive Archer battle in the airport cave in Cinfras, me and all my friends launching bombs at each other, hiding and sniping from the many boardwalks. Please consider this

What if we had a PvP system in select areas of the actual map? Casual PvP that isn't just a boring 1v1, in environments that are fun, interesting, and enjoyable for fighting friends? It wouldn't be Nether, it wouldn't be meant for competitive. Imagine fighting friends in Gundalf's Tower? All the stories, levels and crazy places (like the broken-down library where Gundalf is actually found). How about in the Dernel Mansion with the broken-down terrain in the mansion itself or even the library maze in the basement! Or even Future Selchar, tons of paths and places to go. It'd just be for fighting in a goofy area where you never know what could happen. It'd be entertaining, it would make for some funny moments.

This has several issues, many of which stem from lack of detail. Namely, what happens when you die?

Ignoring that, though; this doesn't really fit Wynn. Wynn's got a few PvP features for those that really want such things, but it's not a PvP experience.

Plus, if you want to fight in interesting environments, why don't you go duel there? It won't be much different than if this was added. The Nether's a pretty fun environment, too.

Nether is more for competitive PvP, showing off builds and playing to rack up points. The areas would be select, having certain random spawn points. The idea is for having fun with your friends in-game, playing with many people, and not having to worry about your builds, stats or even skill in PvP in general. Plus like I said, dueling is just 1v1. This is a situation like the Nether but meant to have simple fun in where you can just enjoy yourself with mindless combat in random, wacky environments.

So you just want different arenas for the Nether, essentially.

That, or you can explain what happens when somebody dies in one of these zones

Then any what will happen is what happens in any other servers with similar system: some random higher levels just walking around and casually... ONESHOTTING EVERY PEACEFUL AND HARMLESS LOW LEVEL PLAYERS.

You'd respawn with either invincibility or a temporary 100% Dodge Chance for a limited time so that you can avoid spawn killers. You'd also be unable to damage opponents. I also have an idea to where there's a safe zone above the map, but that wouldn't really work with enclosed areas like the aforementioned Gundalf's Tower. This post is simply just an idea as the title says. A Kickstarter game trailer, if you'd like to imagine. A simple concept that is open to being thought into more thoroughly and/or developed over time.

That is true, but nobody can stop assholes who feel the need to assert unnecessary dominance in an area meant for fun and enjoyment. Not even the owners of the server. There will always be "that guy" sadly.

Okay, so you really do just want the Nether to have some changes made to it.
This is a section for suggestion. If the thread is here, then you're suggesting it as is. If you want to develop it over time, then you should do that before posting. If you really need feedback before the suggestion is even developed, just ask around if people think it's a good idea.

It is a suggestion, a suggestion in this case is an idea that a player feels could be in the game. There's honestly no reason for you to be a hardass on a simple, harmless idea.

You're suggesting, we're critiquing. That's how this suggestion works. Now, you can stop whining about that unimportant detail and we can start improving your suggestion, or we can just carry on with this off-topic discussion.

Ok, tell me your ideas on this. I want to keep true to the idea of it being fun, casual fighting.

So, like a more casual style of Nether? In other words, what you want is an expansion of the Nether PvP system with perhaps a casual mode and for sure more maps.

Yes, maps that are familiar to casual players. Places they've already been or even maps based off of areas in the in-game map

In that case, why not suggest just that: instead of making areas in the overworld have PvP enabled, which may causes issues, have it be a suggestion based around expanding the Nether.

Well my idea wasn't to have areas on the in-game map itself, I didn't clarify on that and I'm sorry. It's separate maps that are either direct copies of in-game areas or expansions to those areas.

I kinda like the idea but just imagine all the high level assholes who would sit in low level pvp areas just to ambush unsuspecting low levels
