This is not a suggestion. Yet. It's not in General Suggestions because it isn't a properly developed concept.

I want to know if a class expansion is viable.
Many MMORPGs have classes from different races/species, yet Wynn does not offer us the chance to play as a non-Wynnic character.

I'd like to see classes from each and every province implemented into the game if possible. Before you voice your opinions, allow me to explain my ideas in a more detailed manner.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Currently, we have 4 classes, all originating from Wynn. (or Fruma, whatever floats your boat) This makes for a somewhat linear storyline, where you do not get additional lore for playing different classes. Now, what if classes based on Corkian/Gavelian/Dernic races were in the game?

For one, more lore will be added, known exclusively to the corresponding races. Dwarves will have access to extensive records of the Dogun War, Corkians knowledge of the island's mechanical wonders, and Villagers secrets of the trade.

A few classes off the top of my head:
    Slayer/Berserker (Dwarf)
    Paladin/Guardian(Elf)
    Mercenary/Technician(Corkian)
    Shaman/Elder (Avos)
    Trader/Merchant (Villager)

These classes will not be so different from the existing classes, being built around the same concepts. But what makes this unique is the storyline given to each of them.

Now, you may be thinking: "But Uber! How can we possibly hope to have multiple sets of new quests released before the 22nd century?" I don't plan to have entirely different questbooks for each class. Each class will have a few different quests corresponding to their different roles in the separate provinces.

As an example, a Mercenary (Corkian) will NOT be able to do The Envoy (I) or (II). Instead, said player will have access to a couple of new quests similar in design, but not in lore. Such an example would be a quest named Homecoming or something related. The Corkians will be much friendlier and open towards you regarding the history of Corkus. (which is where the additional lore I mentioned comes in)

To balance this out, the new classes will NOT be able to access all of Wynn's lore, encouraging players to play multiple classes to make new discoveries. (NO, NOT THE "DISCOVERIES" THAT GIVE REWARDS)
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I find this an intriguing concept and would love to see this implemented, but before that can happen, I have to know if this is doable and worth the effort that would have to be put in, both by the community and those with a hand in running the server.

    TL;DR
Read it. Digest it. Critique it. (Or tell me why this was a miserable attempt at making a thread)
If this gets enough support, we can work on developing this.

Or simply tell me that we can't have new classes, because I don't actually know if we can.

Thing is that this would take an absolutely massive amount of time to create.
Even 1 new class would probably take ages because they would have to create new weapons for every single class, as well as actually make the class itself.

    Don't quote me on that.
I should have said OFFICIAL suggestion, but meh, I'll edit that later.

That is a valid point, and I think that this might be where the community pitches in to provide the massive amount of statistics required. I do not plan to list this as an official suggestion until all the details are taken care of.

Basically, I'm hoping that the community can pitch in to make this happen if they want to see this ingame.

It's a good concept but it'll take a long time to make a story for each race. Like where they came from, like how the humans are from Fruma. Also did you get this idea from Skyrim because they have different races in that game.

everybody wants new classes, and the classes are easy to make, the hard part are the items, because when they make a item, they think in a class,if they make a water item with mana and spell, they think about mage, fire its warrior,so this is the hard part

But pretty sure races would cause lore hunters and theorists to have a heart attack.

Maybe. I mean, being a different race sometimes affects quests (like being an Altmer in that one quest can allow you to infiltrate a place easier), but as far as I know, it doesn't affect the quests that you can do.

    this post is helpful af
I don't really see an issue with asking for help on projects. I'm not tasking slaves with doing this.
    1. Can you elaborate?
    2. Balancing isn't impossible with the community
    3. Which is why I won't put this out there as an official suggestion unless we can provide all the details, which is to say most weapon/class stats will be ready by then.
    4. An alternative idea would be to have other races with more lore, but playing the same classes? (perhaps with one or two alterations) Also save a lot of time.

What do you think about 4. ? Is that a viable suggestion as opposed to my original one?

Saying you want everybody else to do work on the suggestion is passing off your suggestion onto them. If you want your suggestion to get in-game as you want, then you need to put in the work, not ask others to do it for you. Sure, they can give feedback and such, but anything past that is just laziness.

I'm saying that if others want to see it happen, they can help as they wish. I for one would love to help develop a concept that I find interesting.

Please note that I am not passing off this suggestion, I am providing a concept to see if anyone is interested.

I'm not interested in claiming this as MY suggestion and have you guys do the work, I'm just saying that if this is well-received (it's not) then people can provide details and inspiration as they wish.

I don't "want it to get in game as I want", I want it in game only if most of the community wants it and as they want it.

Please do not misunderstand my intentions or motivation.

Well, alright. I guess it was just miscommunication.

I will say, though, that saying you want the community to participate in a suggestion that you've made comes off as a bit offish. Because this is all in text format and we can't really infer anything from tone or the like, it seems as if you want others to finish it for you, especially since you also stated that it was unfinished.

That may just be me, but you may want to clarify that to avoid future incidents

I haven't actually gotten round to that part yet, this thread was mostly a prod to see the general response. (Can't quite enlist the community on something that can't be done, eh?)
I apologize for any miscommunications, I was not expecting the community bit to come into focus that early on.

Saying classes will never happen or for a long time doesnt realy help with those who are not hardcore about the server looking for replay value after maxing all 4 classes and have done all the content available.
(fyi im new to the server but also im a casual when it comes to mmo type games)

1.while i do not know who this Jumlas is if this is the person who coded the classes we have now the coding doesnt seem so bad to me

2.balancing issues are common in pretty much any game, that shouldnt be a deterrent for making new content

3.Of course it would wynncraft wasnt made in a day either, the server it has become (saw a video of the evolution of wynncraft) took a long time, the new corkus update in terms of time needed to build the island and structures, the custom dialog of the npcs, mob spawn/placements, building dungeons and portals for said dungeons would prolly take the same maybe even less of the time needed then designing and making a new class. unless they are adding shields, whips, flails, guns, throwing weapons ect. to the game they wouldnt realy need any kind of new weapons for new classes cuz they pretty much covered the basic weapons staff, bow, sword, dagger.

4.i would have to disagree on the mini classes, from builds ive seen on the forum are mostly for damage types elemental/poison/life and mana steal/exploding or increasing how much damage an ability of the class does, besides powders adding damage buffs for armor, cc procs, armor debuff, and chain lightning. They do not realy change the mechanics of the class abilities themselvs, like for example i play an archer and i want arrow storm to have a fire spread (i can change the direction of the where the arrrows fire during by rotating the camera but if u get the point im trying to make) and pierce instead of knockback, or if i wanted exploding arrow to on explosion spread fire on the ground where it exploded for some added damage (can do somthing similar with poison but again not the point im making) or cover the floor in webs slowing enemies that move through it, also changing it to stun/disorient those hit by the explosion. there isnt realy anyway to do any of that also limited by what minecraft itself can not counting how other mod the game itself. I have not made it far enough to see how tier 4 powders work or how they effect classes or if they proc off abilities like poison does.

Though i never got the chance to play on it there was a server called Zentrela that had a combat system similar and different to wynncraft where instead of stat points, u had skill points that would unlock/upgrade different abilites for the class you were playing and u could bind them to the mouse combos similar to wynn L-L-R,L-L-L,L-R-R,L-R-L, a mod stated on their dead forums that Zentrelas source code was floating around in the forums somewhere, if wynn devs were interested they could adapt some that code into theirs for either new classes or a revamp of the class combat system they have. My source is a vid on youtube that was "reviewing" the server.

Id also like to say it doesnt seem that difficult to those looking on the outside of the finished product and not at how it was made, have difficulty making suggestions or idea for the game threads due to those ready to shut it down, while your entitled to your opinion and they are entitled to have crazy ideas, remember wynncraft the game you both love like w/e was some1 crazy idea before it became what it is now.
