Weapons With Rainbow Powders

Is the glitch with powders calculating damage wrong in motoki's quote fixed yet? Also, which would do more damage, motoki's hive bow or Endertricity's?

 

Mine is completely wrong for making a rainbow weapon, glitch or not.

Also yours gives the highest damage out of them all (calculated on motoki1's damage calculator)

 

I used an incorrect method to calculate it. Powders don't work like that. Try to find ones with ~20% conversion.

Nah, it's not a glitch. Both theories you quoted is wrong, but now I have figured out basically everything about damage calculation.

Taking Hive Bow for example, we want to make the damage rainbow on Bomb Arrows. Bomb Arrow's elemental conversion rate is 60% Neutral | 25% Earth | 15% Fire, so we want to split that 60% Neutral into Thunder|Water|Air. The best way to go is to put T4 Thunder/Water/Air powders (17%, 21%, 22% Neutral->Elemental conversion rate). And there we go, now you have a Hive Bow that does damage of 25% Earth|17% Thunder|21% Water|15% Fire|22% Air, on Bomb Arrow. However, this is adjusted only for Bomb Arrow damage, and does not work for other spells. For example, Arrow Shield has the elemental conversion rate of 40% Neutral|30% Water|30% Air, which is quite different from Bomb Arrow's one.
Hive Bow might be better than Freedom, or maybe not, I don't know cuz I've never compared those. What I wanted to say is, you cannot completely make a Hive Bow into Freedom by simply putting powders. If you want a perfect rainbow weapon, go to Trade Market and buy one Freedom :3

 

So should I just go full rainbow as in your method to spam different spells?

 

It's up to you. As I said Hive bow+Powders won't make a rainbow damage for every spells, but I guess it's okay.
