So, discoveries were added with Corkus, but there aren't very many of them. Here are some existing locations that I think are worthy of becoming discoveries, due to their difficulty in reaching and because they are not in any quests.

    So,

Would be triggered by reaching Kronos. This is a lot of work to reach, and if stuff like the Orange Wybel and Necklace Chamber can be discoveries I don't see why this can't.

Text: A mysterious force seems to be interfering with Gavel's clocks, causing them to inexplicably stop. Perhaps this is the source...
Triggered by entering the boss room with General Skien. With all the following clues, navigating mazes and general difficulty, this is certainly worthy, especially at the level.
    Level- 55
    XP- 25,000
Text: The formerly brilliant Tromsian strategist and warrior Skien fell first to madness, then to the corruption following the arrival of the villagers. He stands with his unfortunate soldiers, deep in his last fort.
Pretty obscure, pretty interesting, but at the moment there's no real reason to go there. Triggered by entering the final (library) room.
    Level- 95
    XP- 600,000
Text: Most of pre-war Dwarven history has been lost to time and mythology, but this spectacularly preserved site tells us that there are exceptions.
Triggered by entering the village on 'Human' island. That place needs more appreciation.
    Level- 40
    XP- 7,000
Text: Goblins are cunning creatures, but their ultimate motives are somewhat unclear. This baffling island is a prime example, and proof of even further intelligence.
A bit of a lower level discovery. Not as hard as the others, but then it is just level 30. Triggered by entering the boss room with Death Oni.
    Level- 30
    XP- 1,200
Text- Sailors have long avoided Half Moon Island due to wild rumours and an unusually coordinated host of undead. However, now that you've found the problem, it might make a great island resort.
Another early-game one. Activated by reaching the Lion Master's boss room.
    Level- 25
    XP- 850
Text: The savannah has always been considered a wild, untameable place. However, the reclusive tribe that made their home in this ruin are proof to the contrary.
You have to go through lava, come on. (suggestion by @Shanaaro)
    Level- 60
    XP- 30,000
Text: Untouched for decades, the resting place of Sarnfic has become home to the egg of a long-forgotten sea monster. Who knows what will hatch from it, but the people of the sea must be prepared.
It is kind of difficult to find. Triggered by entering the boss room. Suggested by @TotallyAName
    Level- 55
    XP- 20,000
Text: The Iboju tribesmen have, through years of pressure from Bovemist missionaries, become somewhat ignorant of their history. The powerful idol held deep in their ancient library remains a testament to the magical prowess and skill in combat that they have forgotten.
Not very well known, but a nice simple early discovery.Triggered by entering the tomb (in the basement of the boarded up house in Nemract. Get in by pressing the button on the crafting table) Suggestion by @TotallyAName
    Level- 20
    XP- 550
Text: Febe Hertaelnad was an eccentric gambler entertainer and inventer, who made his living in Nemract shortly after arriving from Gavel, mostly from Nemract Whiskey, which he invented on the boat. He went missing a few years later after declaring bankruptcy, and his body was never found, until now.
Triggered by entering the room of the giant mech. Suggestion and text by @DrakeM1
    Level- 85
    XP- 250000
Text: Something about this robot feels off, like the Corkians weren't behind its design.
The Fake Relic Shrine (it gives no reward but is still a fun easter egg) Thanks to @DrakeM1 for this as well.
    Level- 25
    XP- 950
Text: Lore: This particular Relic Shrine has been robbed of its magical properties, and you feel like someone's laughing at you for your effort.
A cave full of cultists is guarded by Swordsmen Guards and Archer Guards (at x: -1260 z: -4458). Go to the end of the cave to find a entrance to a cave with a boss called Vyrwolf, which drops 1 to 2 eb. Thanks to @Blastbasher for this one.
    Level- 65
    XP- 40,000
Text: The Raksdens Cultists have managed to release a powerful beast, which seems to be consuming them all. Even with all their strength, it is obvious that they cannot control it.
Nice simple easter egg, with a water maze. Thanks to @Gebis8 for the suggestion.
    Level- 85
    XP- 150,000
Text: This crude blueprint of Corkus is a total mystery - why would anyone hide this in Corkus City's plumbing network?
Triggered by reaching the top of the parkour-library-tower-dome thing. Development of an idea by @ElectroMantis.
    Level- 90
    XP- 150,000
Text: Records of the Dwarven War are almost entirely written from a Dwarven perspective. This ruined library tells a very different story...
Triggered by using the cannon in the Hidden City airship easter egg where you exit the airship in mid-air. Sorry @bloww for waiting so long to your idea.
    Level- 88
    XP- 100,000
Text: Some areas of the Canyon of the Lost are completely separated from the outside world by high mountains. Who knows how a cannon got into one of these?
Triggered by going through the front gate of the castle on the Ragni/Fruma peninsula. Not really hidden, but I feel it would be nice to reward lower-level players for going off the beaten track. Idea by @Stewartsaurus.
    Level- 15
    XP- 300
Text: This remote castle was built as a neutral diplomatic space for the monarchies of Fruma and Ragni, but was abandoned when it was found that the Fruman representatives had no memory of their origin or of why they were there.
Triggered by reaching the guard NPC. The gate is nice and all, but I think we should encourage exploring and finding it until Fruma comes out. (@RandomAdventurer)
    Level- 60
    XP- 25,000
Text: This majestic entrance may as well not be here - nobody has ever used it in either direction.
Triggered by entering the bear cave. This place is pointless at the moment. Lower level players have less time to explore, as levelling is so easy. Let's change that. (@RandomAdventurer)
    Level- 15
    XP- 250
Text: You can't help but wonder if you're the first visitor ever to come here. Nevertheless, the owner seems pleased.
Triggered by entering the last farmer NPC's house on the mountain in the tutorial. It would be a nice way to introduce discoveries and the rewards for exploring. Thanks to @RandomAdventurer, this in particular is a great idea
    Level- 1
    XP- 30
Text: The view of the valley from up here is stunning.
Triggered by entering the main area with the miniboss (from either side) of the Firelord's area of Upper Molten Heights near the Sky Islands. From @Pokextreme.
    Level- 92
    XP- 80,000
Text: The remote and inhospitable landscape of the surface of Molten Heights are littered with forgotten immortal demigods from the Dwarven War, some of which have acquired cults of minions.
Thanks again to @Pokextreme for this. It's an island with nothing of any use on it, so it would be good to reward players for going there. Triggered by reaching the basement.
Level- 25 (only because of the mob levels. It isn't far from Selchar too.)
    XP- 1200
Text: Potatoes seem to be a rather common obsession.
Triggered by reaching the basement of Almuj's item identifier. Again from @Pokextreme. Though not too difficult to find, it's worthy of a small discovery, especially at the level.
    Level- 30
    XP- 1000
Text: Almuj has frequently struggled with water shortages. What could drive one villager to such lengths of selfishness as this are unclear...
At (-355, 117, -5458). This area is often neglected, as there's no reason to go there. Idea and text from @PianoPlaiur.
    Level- 75
    XP- 30,000
Text: The view of the devastated village below is both creepy and serene at the same time.

If you have any more ideas, I'd be delighted to add them.

I've updated it with the answer to that question. I've based XP values on existing discoveries of similar levels, adjusting for the difficulty of each.

I'm surprised. This isn't a bad idea, though I guess it is just adding more of a pre-existing feature. Even so, the flavour text is quite well-written and nicely done, except for one little part...

Discoveries are definitely an area of wynncraft worth evolving...

I thought entering cities should count for a discovery, smaller amount than usual of course. A discovery could provide lore on deltas in an exciting way

I agree with this. I think there should be 1st time discoveries for entering a town, just without experience. These would give a tiny amount of lore about the town.

    Some thoughts:
    • Some of these areas are great and I agree with them, such as
      • Hertaelnad's Tomb
      • Goblin Village
      • Sarnfic Egg
      • Half-Moon Island
      • Skien's Island
    • However, some [such as Clock Dungeon], already give you pretty good rewards. I feel like you shouldn't get a good item and good XP from a discovery. Thus, places like:
      • Matryoshka Idol (matryoshka chestplate)
      • Clock Dungeon (clock set)
      • Lion Lair (you get a T4 loot chest)
    • I'm kind of on the fence about Ancient Rodoroc, because I personally think it will get some content once we get the Molten Heights update (whenever it may come).
    • Also, I have a couple places I'd like to see be made into discoveries:
      • The Fake Relic Shrine (it gives no reward but is still a fun easter egg)
        • Lore: This particular Relic Shrine has been robbed of its magical properties, and you feel like someone's laughing at you for your effort.
        • XP: 950
      • Bastion (in Corkus)
        • Lore: Something about this robot feels off, like the Corkians weren't behind its design.
        • XP: 250,000
    • That's all! Feel free to send any feedback!

Point taken, but I would argue that a lot of existing discoveries give good rewards. There are a lot of loot chests in the Lost Avos City. The Necklace of a Thousand Storms and Pheonix Prince's crown are good legendary items exclusive to discoveries. I feel like having an XP reward as well as an item would help encourage exploration. How many people actually use the clock set? It's not worth the effort for most players, but it might encourage some if they can get XP in a way other than mindless grinding. I'll also add your suggestions, thank you for those.

Alright, I see your idea. I'll support the locations I previously didn't--I personally never went for the Clock Set, so it being a discovery would make me more interested.

Again, this is a solid idea. We need more discoveries, especially in the ocean (since as of now the only one we have is the Durum Isles boss altar). Thanks for bringing the idea forward.
