Okay, so I have searched this idea on the forums about this and found some players who have already suggested almost the same thing. But the thing is, the suggestion(s) changes the game too much and it's too fancy.

I came up with an idea that will not actually require changing too much stuffs, if it's bad, please don't hurt me... :'3

    <<-TRADING STATIONS->>

    Basic Idea:

So basically, there will be a building for that kind of station in some major cities(detlas, cinfras, llevigar, etc.) and there will be 2 NPCs there called "(whatever)". To start, you rent an item from one of them called "cabinet key" or something similar(The price can be a little expensive, like 10eb?). Then, you go to the other NPC and give that guy the key to open a GUI.

You put the item you want to trade(either emeralds or the items you are selling) into it, then you click confirm.

When you exit the GUI, a message will appear once in a while to remind you to target a player you want to trade with, with a command.

Then, if you click it once again:

After you use the command, the message that pops out once in a while will stop. The other player will receive a message once they have joined. If that player haven't responded yet, the message will reappear once in a while, until he has interacted with the GUI.
That player will also have the right to cancel the trade.

When the player goes to the station and clicks on the NPC(who receives the key):

The player can now put in the items they sell or emeralds and click confirm.
    After clicking confirm:

There will be no message that notifies the first player. That player will have to always check the station. Now the first player comes back to check the station.

Now if the first player clicks confirm, a message will pop out:
    Then instantly another message:
These messages will also show up when the next player comes online.

Now, when both players click on the NPC, it will first check the inventory space of the player. If it's full, it will refuse to give the items. If it has enough space, the items will be moved into the player's inventory the moment when he clicks on the NPC. (Note: No GUI will show up this time.)

    Notes and Rules:

    1) when a player sends or receives a trading request, he will not be able to send or receive another trading request.
(Not sure if the grammar is correct. Please correct me if it is :P)

    2) when a player attempts to target a player who can't receive a request, the same message will appear and the process will be automatically cancelled. These two messages will appear together:

    3) once the player has put their items into the GUI, and exits, he will not be able to take the items out again, same thing applies to the other player. If he wants to cancel the process, use a command for that(/ts cancel).

    4) if the process was cancelled or completed, this message will appear:
^And that message will appear when the other player comes online. Once that message has appeared, a timer will start counting down. NOTE: both players will not share the same timer.
    After 1 day:
Then, if the items are still untouched for another day:
^And with that, this station will not become an alternate storage for players.

    5) If the trading process kept untouched for over 5 days(Can be modified), the process will be cancelled and this will appear:
And the message that reminds you to take your items back will appear, too.

    6) after using the key to make a trading request, you cannot take it back by cancelling the trading process.

    7) 1 cabinet key will be taken away once you have successfully opened a trading request. That means, once the player have targeted another player, 1 key will be taken away. If the player exits without putting items in, of course the keys will remain untouched. This could be modified though, thanks to @captainganon for that <3

    8) You will be able to block requests from players. You can even block every requests from everyone.
    Coming soon

    Conclusion:
Have I covered everything? I hope I did. I no English, so feel free to correct my grammar in this wall of text, hehe...
I don't think this will change the economy and will only help players who have time zone issues. What do you think? Feel free to suggest the commands, names for the NPCs, or you can even suggest a much better name for the station :3

    TL;DR:
an NPC middleman for cross time zone trades. Thanks to @Yuno F Gasai for that <3

    To-Do List:
    Add images
    Revamp the wall of text

Make it handle multiple trade requests
Prevent players from abusing it for extra storage

This thread gets updated frequently. For those who have came here before, I really need your opinions on those added or edited stuffs. Once again, please vote on the poll, if you still haven't yet...

Yep! I added in the details so you can have an idea of how will it be implemented and see if anything is unbalanced or messed up

While similar ideas have cropped up in the past, none have had quite this level of detail. The concept is pretty good, and the execution isn't bad either.

    Really, the one issue I see is with this;
Why? This doesn't seem to add anything and just unnecessarily limits trading capabilities. Sure, a limit may be needed, but 1 is a bit low.

Something else that needs clarification; for the "cabinet key," is it a one-time purchase that you can use from then on? A once-per-trade-session item? Your wall of text is a bit messy and it's not quite clear.

Lastly, something I think you should add; the GUI should be larger than the current trade one. Since you won't really be able to do multiple trades at once with somebody if necessary (due to it being long distance), it'd be best to be able to fit all your items in at the same time.

I've been thinking about that. But I think if each player is allowed to make more than 1 requests, the server would need to provide (amount of active players)x(request limits) temporary storages that stores things up to 7 days or even longer if it's modified. It would lag the server if the limit is not set properly, in my opinion. But I will probably put a situation like this into my wall of text in the future.

Added! Thank you for pointing this out.

I haven't seen players who need to fill up the current trading GUI when trading. BUT if players do, I will add it in the future.

Very intriguing, and quite original I'll say that much. This would prolly attract a bit more attention if you attached some screenshots. There were a couple suggestions involving trade stations/better banks where the thread creator went into a vanilla singleplayer world and "simulated" the GUIs' rough-sketch appearance by using Chests and arrangements of blocks/items in the grid.

You definitely have a lotta' detail down in writing. If u get some visuals in there this'll reach the next level of professionalization. What you have is quite plausible so you deserve some credit for that.
