I'm with captainganon on this, there isn't any lore for this island, and I doubt there will ever be. I don't get why people seriously think that a 5x5 island that has existed since the server started would have lore while whole entire areas *cough* Molten Heights *cough* have incomplete to no lore... There is just no reason for them to add lore to it. Now, is it fine and creative to invent lore for places? Yes. Would it be a great and necessary addition to the lore? No, so it's fine for people to disagree about the lore being IMPLEMENTED in game AND to make lore for any place.

    Or you know...
It could just be a random floating island with a small spring on it.

It's there since before the sky lands were an idea so it was just a magical floating island that decorated the beach.
Knowing Wynn a lot of things are there for no reason

Now, on the thread, I don't disagree with adding lore to the island, I just disagree with adding a huge power bonus to the island.
Not only that, but science, if this little island has produced enough water to fill the entire ocean, wouldn't this cause the entire world to flood eventually?
And generally lore isn't the what, it's the how.
We don't need to know what the island as done, it's an island, it shouldn't do anything.
What we need to know is how it started floating.
    Feel free to make that.
    I'm making one too.

Don't you just hate it when a thread basically turns into a lengthy argument between two people, mostly about which of them started the argument?

That's actually a good idea, a whole quest centered around a stone block. Someone needs to get on that!

The Water Nymphs in Wynn are very secretive, living only as one with their streams and rivers, almost never manifesting their human forms.
However there are a few exceptions.
A particularly adventurous nymph wanted to see the world, but being attached to a spring, she was unable to move far from her source.
She called out to many adventurers, but none were able to help her.
One auspicious day though, a sorcerer happened to be walking by.

    "Hello, adventurer?!"

The sorcerer stopped and looked around, confused, for there was no one to be seen.

    "Over here, in the spring!"

The sorcerer approached cautiously, for there were many dangers across Wynn, and not all of them looked malevolent.

    "Adventurer, can you help me?"

"What could you need help with? For you are simply, a spring."

"Not just a spring," she said, rising from the pond, "My name is Alaenan, I wish to see the world."
"Yet I am tied to this water, as a nymph, unable to go far, lest I die."

"How should I help, that you may get your wish? I know nothing of nymphs as yourself, but only the arcane arts."

"I do not know, adventurer, but should you be able to help me, I would be eternally grateful."

Feeling sorrow for the nymph, for he couldn't imagine a life without adventure, he decided to help.
He spent a year researching the geological and astral formations of the spring, and how to move its location elsewhere.
Only when he found a fragment of white rock that fell from the sky did he make any progress.
He studied and mastered the strange magic emanating from the fragment, and discovered that under the right properties, it could float.

He finally arrived back at the spring, many years later.

"Alaenan, I have found a way to help you!"

    He received no response.

"Alaenan! I can help you see the world!"

The waters of the spring did not even ripple, for the nymph had given up hope long ago.

Not knowing what to think, the sorcerer set to work anyways.
He began mapping the stars, marking their distances and drawing lines between them, finding three places where all intersected.
He broke the fragment up and dropped each piece on a different side of the spring, carefully turning and adjusting the stones to face the lines on his notes.
He then began to speak an incantation, that had never been seen, and never will be seen again.
As he spoke, the earth around the spring rumbled, and began to rise.
Strings of starlight began to weave around the fragments, and pull them toward the ocean.

The sorcerer collapsed as they reached the shore, unable to cast any longer.
When he was able to walk again, he dug out the side of the now floating spring, and let the water pour onto the sand, and out into the ocean.
At this, the nymph took interest, for she was seeing the world as she had always wished.

She could only see the shore at first, crabs scurrying along the beach, smaller fish swimming in the ocean.
As she searched farther she saw much more.
She rose from the water with joy, seeing more and more of the ocean with each passing moment.
She became enamored with her newfound freedom, and then tainted by it.

She saw all the darkness in the world as well.
The madness of Skien, the War of the Ice Islands.
She saw a man get stabbed.
    She saw someone tortured endlessly.

All the joy she felt was gone, replaced by hatred for mankind.
She turned to the sorcerer with tears in her eyes, and drug him into the water.
He tried to fight back, to escape, but bringing the spring to the ocean had drained him.
    He did not survive.

The moral of the story is, don't use white rocks to get a water nymph high.

I don't understand why you have to come into a thread about a tiny idea and shut it down. Thanks for you negativity and all, but no one really needs it. Why are you expending so much effort into denouncing a small idea about a 5x5 structure. Is it really that big a deal to you that this idea doesn't ever happen? I was just expressing a thought that I had and you have to come in here and argue about how this will never happen. You should criticize things that need are worth critiquing, not something as small as this, but that's just my opinion. You're entitled to your own actions.
