Stop Spamming Players Who Do Not Have Server Resource Packs Enabled

Having Wynncraft's resource pack automatically install when a player joins a world can be a bit laggy. In Guild Wars, if you have the resource pack auto-install, the lag can kill you when you join a war world. By the time the resource pack loads, war mobs will have already spawned and you will be in a sticky situation. To solve this issue, I obtained a version of the resource pack that I can turn on and off manually. However, when I set the Server Resource Packs setting to "disabled", I get spammed with a message telling me to get the resource pack as soon as I join a world. Every 30 seconds or so, I get this message:
"Warning! You do not have the Wynncraft Resource Pack. The game will not make sense until you have it installed.
To fix this, add play.wynncraft.com to your server list and enable server resource packs.
Still not sure how to do it? Click here: (insert link)"
It's very annoying and clearly not necessary to spam this message so frequently. I suggest that this message only show up when a player joins a world. After that, the message should stop being shown until the player joins another world. That way, the new kids can still figure out how to get the resource pack, but nobody gets spammed.

and not having the Wynn pack is really game breaking, some items are blocks and it makes everything confusing!

 

1. Using the server resource pack is a better option than the downloadable version
2. We could solve this issue by just having the resource pack downloaded when you join the lobby

 

^Like Ganon above said, a better option would be to load the pack in the lobby.

 

Are you saying that I can download the texture pack from the lobby? Or are you suggesting that as a change?

You seem to have misunderstood. I have a version of the pack that I can turn on and off manually, which means that I don't need to do the "automagic" thing. Ergo, I have the texture pack.

 

I didn't have it on till my first 100 XD

 

1) Get a new pc
2) Use Wynncraft Enhanced modpack so you can't get spammed
3) The war time is about 5-10 mins (i guess) so turn your chat off or lower the opacity % in "Esc > Options > Chat Settings"

 

Because getting a new computer over a small problem encountered on a Minecraft server is not at all an overreaction...

i also have it BUT i still use the normal wynnpack that downloads when i join a world

i havent died to lag in a guild war
or died in a guild war period

 

Great idea! I NEVER use the texture pack, I use my own called Legacy2 which removes block textures (I HATE THE BLOCK TEXTURES), so I can just load it up *BEFORE* I join so I get no lag on the server. But... YES, the message is REALLY annoying

This idea has been discussed in the past, and beaten to death. NO, we won't do that. The rp is necessary in order for the game to make sense. Fighting with a wood slap looks dumb. Worse, players might accidentally throw away a very valuable item. Therefore, the answer is always going to be NO.
