World Texture Pack Issue

Current situation:
As we all know,you load the texture pack after you join the server.

Problem:
However,for some people who cannot afford a good pc/slow internet speed,you will mostly get kick from timed out because you stuck at loading the texture pack for too long.

Solution:
1)Let us download the texture pack at the lobby where you choose to join a server.

2)Toggle the texture pack detection
which doesnt let you play if you are not using the texture pack by typing command /toggle texturepack.We can still use the texture pack by moving it to our own texture pack file insead of server texture pack.

Reason:
This command wont affect new players since the default setting is automatically download the texture pack,so they will have the texture when they first join.

Pros:
1)Help players join a world faster
2)Prevent getting kicked
3)Reduce delay for bad connection users

Cons:
Can't really think of a drawback of it

Hopefully you guys could understand and I will improve this suggestion later.

Remove texure pack detection
Solve timed out problem for bad pc/Slow internet user.

 

Just have it load in the lobby, it would be much simpler than what you have down

Yes, the resource pack should load in the lobby, it would make it so much easier for everyone.

Though, I'm not sure how that would work with whatever Wynn uses to transport players to a world when they select one, could someone who is familiar with the coding confirm if it's possible for the resource pack to stay active when switching between worlds?

 

Well,after you join a server and u have ur texture pack on,u type /server back to lobby and you still have the texture pack on.
So i think it safe to say no problem for now.

 

Actually, after you go back to a lobby with /server (or /hub), when choosing a world and waiting in the loading screen, the resource pack deactivates itself, and as soon as the world loads, it reactivates, making the loading time longer than it should be. (That's how it is for me at least)

 

Oh,then the toggle command should solve this problem since you can just put the texture pack to the texture pack file instead of server texture pack.So,you wont need to load again.

 

We should put in a download link for the texture pack, as when you join the lobby from opening mc, the texture pack doesn't load. It only loads once you go into a world.

 

How about it only force you to download if you do not have it?But i dont know it is possible to detect player's resourse pack tho

 

I've switched between world and there was no texpack loading time.
What you're probably getting is the unholy undead armor skin load times that still aren't fixed.
They've been corrupted.

 

I don't understand what's the problem, you only have to load the pack once

 

for bad pc user/slow internet user,they have to load for a long time and some even get kick from loading it too slow.
For me,it is about the internet speed and it sometimes causes delay and affect my gameplay experience

 

Having it load in the lobby is the only necessary solution and has no further complications. The lobby works just as well with the Wynn pack as it does in default, so there are no downsides.
