    Totally not a clickbait title.
It makes no sense lorewise to have you respawn upon death, while this is a fundamental part of RPGs, it makes no sense, unless you don't die.

I propose a change to the series of messages that happen along different levels of soul points to explain both "death" and the loss of items.

    Upon "death" with:
    You have been critically wounded...
2 soul points have been lost...
You fade in and out of consciousness...

    You've lost:
    -- (Items)
[You wake up in (city) and see a well-written note on your bags]
[1/3] Note: I found you out there, unconscious, surrounded by beasts, and helped you out.
[2/3] Note: You're carrying a lot of valuable things, a lesser man would have let you die, and taken them!
    [3/3] Note: Be more careful!
    You have been critically wounded...
2 soul points have been lost...
    You black out...

    You've lost:
    -- (Items)
[You wake up in (city) and find a hastily-scrawled note within your bags]
[1/2] Note: Found you out in the wild and helped you out.
[2/2] Note: Took some things as compensation, thanks.
    You have been critically wounded...
2 soul points have been lost...
    What year is it?

    You've lost:
    -- (Items)
[You wake up in (city) and your bags are considerably lighter]

Specific messages can be added to compensate for the fact that some areas are too dangerous to be saved from.

    Special Case Messages
    You have been critically wounded...
2 soul points have been lost...
You fade in and out of consciousness...

    You've lost:
    -- (Items)
[You wake up in (city) and see a note, signed by Kelight on your bags]
[1/2] Note: It seems you couldn't defeat the beast, you came flying out of the cave covered in wounds.
[2/2] Note: You were lucky this time, I wouldn't recommend going in again.
    You have been critically wounded...
2 soul points have been lost...
    You black out...

    You've lost:
    -- (Items)
[You wake up in (city) and find a note, signed by Kelight within your bags]
[1/2] Note: It seems you couldn't defeat the beast, you came flying out of the cave covered in wounds.
[2/2] Note: Some of your items were corrupted, I had to dispose of them before they became a hazard.
    You have been critically wounded...
2 soul points have been lost...
    What year is it?

    You've lost:
    -- (Items)
[You wake up in (city) and find a note, signed by Kelight within your nearly empty bags]
[1/2] Note: It seems you couldn't defeat the beast, you came flying out of the cave covered in wounds.

[2/2] Note: You were lucky to survive, but at the cost of your items, they were all corrupted.

    FAQ
Q: What about the 'Beyond the Grave' quest? Wouldn't this contradict that?

A: No, because through this suggestion you aren't dying, you're simply getting wounded and saved. If this were to be added a couple minor dialogue edits would need to be made to the quest, but besides that the quest would be its own entity separate from the rest of the game.

Q: Do we really need this?

A: It would provide a more sensible outcome from losing all your health to death and respawning. We don't "need" it, just like we don't "need" any other lore to give the game depth and explain away things that happen.

Q: What about all the other major project the team is working on?

A: They don't need to add it right this second, and the current system still technically works fine. They can add it at their leisure.

Q: Why would this make more sense than Beyond the Grave?

A: The quest, while being relatively fun and an interesting explanation, leaves plot holes to be filled.
In the quest when you fight the beast, it's considered 'dead' from then on, even though you killed it while dead.
However, what about when you die to CoW, Bob, or Qira, you still have to complete those quests, meaning that they're still alive, meaning you never killed them.
    This presumes that -
A: You should have never left death's realm
    Or
    B: You never died
Not to mention, if you're a foolhardy scrub like me and try to solo qira at 80 and get destroyed, there's no way you're killing her from deaths realm.
The Beyond the Grave quest also gives very little explanation as to why you drop items, but only when you've lost soul points.
Ya you've 'dropped' them, but why do you only drop a few at high SP and a lot more at low SP.
Mine gives just a little bit more, in the form of inference.

Have you done the level 87 quest "Beyond the Grave?" Because, with the lore from that quest, this idea does not fit.

Would probably be slight more lore-related if those notes were from Death. He said the player oftenly visits him, so the notes could be from him containing his ass humour like...

[1/1] Death: I TOOK SOME RELICS FROM YOUR POCKETS, COME ON, I HAVE TO PAY RENT FOR THIS ENORMOUS MANOR, COUNT THIS AS A PAYMENT FOR GETTING YOU BACK TO YOUR, SADLY, SHORT LIFE.
and all the common messages like you've died, rip soul points, and items lost

    Edit:
    Lol, nailed it

Technically no lore fits with that quest, how many times have you had to fight the thing you died to.
How many times have you died to Qira low leveled, which is pretty much unbeatable at that point, and you still had to complete the quest.
    That quest needs a rework.
Not only that, but this doesn't have to because you're not dying this way, you're getting wounded and being saved.
That quest could be the one and only time you 'die'.

I'm sure, they mean that when you die, you go to Death, nobody finds your dead body nor revives it.

Lol just noticed you renamed the thread to Remove dying, well, that makes sense now, but I don't see why dying in Wynn is bad, Death is a very hospitable and funny kid

I don't think it fits with the lore. By the time you're Level 87, you've died multiple times. If you remove dying, and just say that you're "injured" it has the side effect of having Beyond the Grave make no sense. Your statement in the beginning of the thread that "It makes no sense lorewise to have you respawn upon death" is incorrect. Wynn, unless most RPGs, has an entire quest devoted to explaining how and why this happens. Until I can see the purpose of removing some lore, my vote is no.

I'm suggesting we change the lore down to level 1 and have the quest become an entity of its own, not changing it suddenly at 87.

Granted mine doesn't explain this either, but I'm working on it.
