Dying Sometimes Drops You Off At A Random Point In The Map

So I was travelling through COTL and was directly above Thanos, but ended up getting stuck, so I figured I would just /kill since, well, I was stuck, and I was headed there anyways. The weird thing is though, when I used /kill, it dumped me off at Fallen Factory's entrance, rather than in Thanos. My question is, how exactly is this possible..? Thanos was right there, so how did I end up in corkus?

Edit: Something similar happened when I died in Corkus the other day, and ended up in front of the Corrupted Underworld Crypt.

 

when the system is confused it dumps you at the spawn, now theres probably something in the way so it drops you at another location

 

Did you start either of those dungeons before you died?

 

I did not, which confuses me as to why I spawned in front of them.
