General Appeal

Dear Wynncraft-Server-Team,

By now I'm rly disappointed how the corkus update turned out, because 0% crucial Bugs have been fixed, as far as I'm concerned.
People are still losing their gear due to the skill point bug and guilds aren't fixed aswell. (I don't know if guilds ever worked smoothly.)
So please fix the broken things, before you release the next update. This is very unprofessional for a server team, that has been around for so long. (Not trying to be mean here)

That's true... today I lost two 7/4 mr aquariuses through the soul point glitch...

 

This kids is why you should have beta testers.

 

Believe it or not, we can't just hit a "fix server" button to make everything work percectly. Jumla is currently revamping all of the code for the entire game to be easier to work with and fix, because the current system is like a jenga tower of somewhat working code from 4 years ago. We'll be able to hire more devs and finally fix bugs like the skill point glitch and guilds which we can't do with the current code. Since this refactor is taking several months to complete, the rest of the team kept working to create an update that stretches the limits of our current quest and script systems to provide the best content we could, without the refactor. Would you have preferred it if we all just stopped working while Jumla fixed the code?

Tl;dr We ARE fixing these bugs, but it's a long process and we didn't want to stop producing content while we waited for the refactor. Is that such a bad thing?

 

You can only do so much with one dev.

 

I understand what you mean, but I think that was not the point @SturerElch refered to. I think he wanted to express that the Wynncraft-Team should fix the existing bugs before they increase the map, and add new quests (what causes new issues).

 

First off I never said that you just hit a button would fix all bugs. Its good to know that Jumla is working on revamping the code... I never meant that you all should stop working on the content, I meant that you should fix known bugs before releasing the next update.

We are fixing them, but it's a several month long process to fix guilds and the skill point glitch among other huge bugs. Would you have preferred the rest of the team just sat around and did nothing while they were being fixed?

If we did that Corkus would have been delayed by several months.

 

I'm not gonna start arguing now, because I'm still triggered by losing my 18sp prism and I'm sure this would turn into a flame war.

 

Can you tell me why you are so triggered? I just tried to explain you that you and SturerElch were not talking about the same thing.

 

He means the skill point glitch(It's a glitch that lets your gear drop when u have no space in the inventory)

 

Of course he's triggered, since you keep ignoring all of the points he's making

 

To clear things up, the Content Team are not the people who can fix bugs like the item drop issue, or the guild bug. That's a code dev's job, and our code dev is Jumla. That means that nobody else can fix those issues other than Jumla.

Now, if the Content Team can not fix those issues, then it is just logical that they proceed in doing what they do best - fix ground level issues, such simple ones like quest typos, a CMD contraption not working and more. Or maybe creating quests, and creating new map content.

It's like if there was a puddle of water on the floor, and you refused to continue on your path unless the puddle is removed, which can only be removed by a cleaner, and not you. We can not be doing this!

I must note that issues the Content Team can actually fix, we do fix before new updates. There's no question about that. We won't start making Dern, Fruma or anything else all of a sudden unless we've fixed the current issues with Corkus, that we, again, can actually fix ourselves.

Jumla, and eventual new devs, will start working on fixing code side issues whenever Jumla finishes his so called "refactor", or revamp of his code, which may take months. There's actually nothing we can do about that, and I'm sorry.
