    Technically never been confirmed
    However in the experience of people who have looted with and without loot sets, in general you get more stuff with loot bonus

    So the loots in loot chests will be depended by the level comparison between your character and the level range of that area you're looting in, and the time they exists.

    Loot bonus doesn't seem to be very effective on loot chests at all.

    It's not confirmed that loot bonus affects chests, but it is a good idea nonetheless.
    As said before, loot bonus affects the amount of items spawned rather than the rarity (rare, legend, etc.) of the items.
