Do you want one or both of them fixed?

  1. The Minecraft boat

  2. Seaskipper item replacement

  3. BOTH

  4. I don't care

  5. Neither

There are 2 current glitches with the boat that I would love to see fixed. One being the normal Minecraft boat, and the one where the Seaskipper Captin replaces items in your inventory with his "gifts".

The Minecraft boat has a glitch where you start to sink after around 3 seconds of riding. This affects almost every player who tries to use the boat which makes it about as useful at crossing the ocean as rotten flesh. Someone should fix this as some quests require you to go to places not accessible through the Seaskipper. If that is impossible then it should be removed as it costs 2 EB for an item no one can use.

Now for the Seaskipper Captin. I'll admit he does give us players some useful items for free once in a while, but it is usually at the cost of items in our hotbar. I have lost a Legendary Sage wand from this and my friend has lost a max level black horse. This could potentially pose a problem as we could be holding a quest item in our hotbar that are irreplaceable and through this system we loose it. Could the Captin just give us the item where there is space in our inventory instead of "creating room" in our hotbar? That way no one has to loose their items anymore.

Thanks for reading through that crap load of text! :)

These are both good ideas, but I'm fairly certain that they're just glitches. Meaning, they're being worked on.

What you're suggesting is to fix a couple bugs; something that the developers would already be doing.

That is most likely true. It is just a glitch that has existed for a long time that so far has not been primarily mentioned in suggestions. :)

The reason why normal boats sink, is because the server is a 1.8-1.11.2 hybrid. In other words, the server is running in 1.8, but supports all clients in 1.9 and higher, which is why movement in the Y coordinate is a bit broken. Since boats were significantly changed, if not even remade completely, there isn't really a way to fix this as of now. The bug will however vanish as soon as we upgrade the server from 1.8 to a higher version, but since the majority of the community still uses 1.8 thanks to it being the most stable version, we're afraid updating would decrease the player count.
